I did that to a certain extent but just by squeezing it with some pliers.Have you tried putting it on the anvill of a bench vice and hammering hell out of it, the high spots will be flattened back down to somewhere near where they should be.
I'm my case, the nuts were snagging slightly on the thread enough to try and twist it. I know some car parts are unnecessary but that double washer is there for a reason. Not quite sure what all the fuss is about, just use individual washers, if your careful and the thread is good the cables will not twist, after all your only adjusting the hand brake
That looks like a job well done to me. I have used my old one currently as it seemed to be holding the cables, just!@NickUK
Took dimensions from the pictures you posted, and used a bit of ‘ creative engineering’.
Started with a bit of brass.

And came up with this

This was my first attempt, but it looks similar
If you want to try it, send me a PM with your address. Being brass its easy to file so if the slots need to be enlarged its not difficult to do. ( I can’t test on mine as the brake cables dont have the flats on.)
I wouldn't say no as mine is a bit crap. I just about managed to make it work though so see if anybody else shows any interest first.
