Event Cancelled TFN. The Lakes Tour 2020.

Another thought Andy ( just to add to your potential growing issues  )
The places where you plan to stop over the 2 days eg The Woolpack are going to be open or not.

I'm still well and truly in pal but not prepared to pay £300 with no refund option, I can always book the hotel when the time comes, leave things as they are for now and we'll see how things are nearer the 9th April,

Again, thanks for the update

Still planning on coming :coolsteer)

No dramas mate, just PM me nearer the time.

I would hazard a guess and say if the hotel decides it's not viable to stay open due to low / zero bookings then they would be liable to refund existing customers, however, if it is as a result of a government instruction (martial law or whatever) then they would deem themselves not liable as it would be out of their hands. I'm still in though.

Opposite should apply. Once the Govt. officially declare travel bans etc. is when Insurance Companies are required to pay out. However we're discovering that some of these do not cover Infectious Illnesses.

Tony.

As I understand after the payment cut off the hotel won't refund even if they are forced to close or we are forced not to travel.

My travel insurance company is saying that if you booked before the virus thing was "known" (not sure of the given milestone) you are covered. If the booking was made after it became known, you are not covered. Think the milestone date is sometime in February.

They will worm out if anything they can, our trip to Morocco is looking dead in the water and have a constant running insurance policy so we will see what happens next.

Thought I'd smuggle myself into France in the back of a lorry, seems to work coming the other way

Looking like that mate, that's why I've given peeps the info as it's not an insignificant sum of money to lose.
