Event Cancelled TFN. The Lakes Tour 2020.

I think I will be booking accomodation nearer the time, IMO its out of order not to refund at a time like this, people are forced not to go by the government and greedy twats keep the money without any customer to accomodate, especially now when people are forced out of work and would gladly take a refund rather then the holiday

Would like to think the Lakes will be open for business as normal by May but its looking unlikely

The way it's going at the minute there will be bugger all open in May! :(

@Grumps have to agree Dave certainly looks like heading that way.
I am getting more restrictions put on me each day .
I am covering 2 mot sites just now from 1st April that will become 1
I have been told not to go into reception, no face to face with any customer and keep 2m distance from other staff members I have been designated 1 tablet and 1 pc terminal only for mot use in back office and everyone else is to stay out of there.
Dont know how much longer we will be allowed to stay open .

Yep we are being heavily restricted at Sites we visit now. As much as I am looking forward to this I really can't see it going ahead, it would be such a shame especially when Andy has put so much time into setting it up.

Regarding the Lakes Tour mate, it's just stuff in relation to the wider issues. If I can run it I will, if not I'll run it on my own and we can all sit in our Zeds for 2 days with an iPad (other platforms are available) and I'll play it on YouTube and we can all have it as a virtual tour in our garages. :D

Hes just shut everything down, does this include the hotel?

Doesn't look like they have ordered hotels to shut yet, just pubs, restaurants and bars

Gyms, leisure centres...

Chancellor said shops and journo picked up on this and Govn has had to clarify that shops are not included.

Yeah heard that. He boo booed

I feel that very soon, some hotels will likely to be taken over to help support NHS activities.

Even if open, the bars will likely be closed, hotel restaurants (most are open to the public) may be closed or provide minimal service. It's not clear if todays advice extends to hotels, but I suspect it is likely to do so except for those providing support for NHS and critical services.

If that's his biggest mistake, bob on mate.
Mate seriously impressed with today's announcements. It has taken the pressure off millions of people. Employers and employees can if sensible survive this. It's going to be tough for some, I feel for the hospitality trade but it HAS to be done to get passed this. A huge recession looms with our total GDP hugely reduced but we are strong and we can come back from this.

On breakfast TV in Central Florida today they say that Volusia County beaches are closed to vehicles over the weekend, ie, no comment about Monday. Why not just say closed till further notice. That way there’s no disappointment on Monday!
A friend from next village says that her kids friends are coming round asking if they can go to the park. FFS what are the parents of these kids using for brains. God help us.

Tony.

The package offered today doesn't really take self-employed into account. An offer of Universal Credit application as opposed to an employee of up to 80% monthly salary to a max of £2500 pm isn't conparible. Initial thought is that this needs addressing or self-employed businesses will go to the wall...will carry on trading if infected...passing virus on...until they drop.

Other measures look favourable at this moment in time and I suspect that the Govn's approach will have to be fluid.
