Britain leaves the EU

Before I decided that I would like to see and work in the wider world
That's a shame that this wider world could be closed for many people here... I never thought I've ever again apply for work permit, but it seems to be a case not only for me in UK but also for Britons in EU.

What had happened with Norfolk? I've went to Norfolk couple of times and it seems to me very different to other regions of UK I am more familiar with.

Hi @ppavuk, I also went to work out side Europe for a few years.

What had happened with Norfolk?

Money, they were making more over here so sold the smaller facility they had here and built a larger one and closed the Norfolk one.

Another company I worked for over here, up until a short time ago, is Dutch with an office in Aberdeen for the technical stuff but all the manufacturing of equipment is done over here. Nothing gets made/built in the UK.

Why so? Inefficiency, wrong legislation, lack of skilled people? I know little on oil industry, but it seems in some other sectors UK doing pretty well... Business usually come to countries where it easier to operate. What is a difference of NL to UK in this respect? Taxes aren't that bad in UK, what makes businesses to quit?

Jean- Hello Nicola how can I help you?
Nicola- I want you to let us into the EU.
Jean- You are already in the EU and your country just vote to leave??
Nicola- Ah yes, but Scotland didn't and therefore it was undemocratic.
Jean- But your country (the UK) has?
Nicola- Ah, but we are Scotland and that's what's important now and ultimately democratic.
Jean- What? more democratic than the national referendum 2 years ago that decided to stay within the UK?
Nicola- Uh, yes.
Jean- I see so when are you going to have another referendum?
Nicola- Uh, not sure.
Jean- So what can i do for you?
Nicola- Well, what I want is a guarantee that as a new country the EU will do what it has refused to do to any another country requesting entry into the EU.
Jean- What's that?
Nicola- Well Jean, we want immediate no strings attached entry into the EU as a new country.
Jean- But you are not a new country
Nicola- I KNOW but when we are?
Jean- I see. You do know that if you become a new member that you will also belong to the single currency?
Nicola- Uh, Jean we don't want the Euro, we will keep the pound thanks.
Jean- WHAT! So let me get this clear. Your current country/union has voted democratically to leave the EU, but you want your country to remain with us although your country also wants to remain in the UK. Also, despite wanting to leave the UK and join the EU you want to keep the pound?
Nicola- Uh, yes.
Jean- Is the rest of the UK alright with that?
Nicola- Uh, I haven't asked them yet.
Jean- OK get back to me on that one!! Sorry I need to go, the Spanish and French governments want urgently to speak to me about something.

There will NOT be a second referendum: Government rejects petition signed by 4.1 million calling for another EU vote - as protesters march on Downing Street (and hold a picnic in the park)

PM David Cameron has formally rejected a second Brexit referendum despite an official petition which received more than 4.1 million signatures. The petition, which was started by a Brexit supporter William Oliver Healey, urged a re-run in case there was a narrow Remain victory. However, the Government rejected the petition claiming it was now time to exit the EU and 'ensure the best possible outcome for the British people'.
