@zedonist, they are a snug, a small amount of adjustment required but nothing drastic, I found some base plate adapters which fit the standard Z mounting holes, this made fitting a lot easier.

Very nice, should grip you better, handy feature to have in seats, somebody should have told BMW!

is the top of the picture the bottom side of the plate? Is the plate up-side-down in the picture?
No Koen, the plate is correct, the right of the picture is the front of the seat.

The seats are Sparco R100 reclining seats so not full on bucket seats, two issues I was having, one, I was having was that I was getting too hot! and two I was sliding around. Cannot wait to properly try them out ;)

Ok, my comment was not clear enough.
Which side is the "car's floor"-side and which is the "seat"-side on the adaptor plate?
I think you are looking at the bottom of the seat and the bottom of the adapter plate the right of the pic is the front bottom of the seat ,the bar around that part would be your front ,back adjustment lever

Update 23 - New Boots

New set of boots today, trying out the Yokohama A048s this time. I had had my monies worth from the Toyo R888s I have just taken off. The Yokohama compound is slighty harder so will be interesting to see the difference.

I wrote the quote below in sept 2013, oops, I seemed to have changed my mind :)

My plans are to keep the car pretty standard, I had changed a lot of things on my 1.9 and did not want to go down that route again, If any mods were to be done they would have to be subtle.

I just read through the entire 8-page thread, and it's a really fun read. Very nice work on your Dakar for the past few years! I just missed out on a Dakar coupe before I settled on my Boston Green...love that Dakar color, though.

Did you get 4x 245/40ZR17?? even for the front?
Or smaller for the front?
225/45/17 for the front Koen, I should have bought Gary's set of 78s and then I could have run a square set up :bashhead:

Thanks, now a Dakar yellow coupe would make my day :) they have shot up in price over this side of the pond recently and a little out of my price bracket.

Boston Green is a lovely deep colour

Great photos Brian - looked like you were enjoying yourself, even if it was a bit wet;)
It was a great day, different in so many ways. There is an additional day at Cadwell on the 9th October if you are interested £139.00 :)
