We've had a steadier day today. Just went down the road to a local village. Nothing there as such just a stunning undiscovered and unspoilt sleepy village in the middle of nowhere. And this is what you get!

Yeah I hate it mate, we love it here and this is the area we want to settle in when the times right. Back in the area this time next year so not to long to wait. No Zed again tho, bringing the in laws over so looking at a flying to La Rochelle and renting a car next year.

Father in law wont drive abroad mate.
Try a little while at St Jean de Monts & St Giles Criox de Vie next year, Dave. St Jean has an amazing beach like Caster Sugar and an Esplanade which stretches for 5kms, while St Giles is a typically French marine port with delightful quayside evening restaurants with local entertainment to wile away the twilight hours!!! Sigh!!!

Thanks for the hints! Just looked them both up and they look like our cup of tea. We love to wile away the hours sat outside the restaurants. That's what France is all about for us!

Yes it's always a sad day when you got to leave, had a meal in house tonight. Four course traditional french cuisine. They were aware of me being a fussy eater and accommodated me brilliantly! I couldn't recommend this place enough. Such a lovely couple, can't do enough for you.
We're only doing the french side tomorrow. Sail at 8pm french time so we should be at the hotel in Dover for 10pm. Boo hoo hoo.

Has anyone visited monkey mountain in the NE corner of France? If not it's well worth the trip!! It's a barrel of laughs watching all the monkeys roaming freely along with their other family members the chimps, orang-utans, the odd ape or three, well you get the picture! Going to have to persuade the wife to do this one year, really impressed with your hol snaps but the she who wears the feet apparently

Well that's that! Back home, 1704 miles, averaged 58.8 mpg and more flies on the front of the car than you can shake a stick at! Had a great time, roll on next year.
I have just what you need mate, got it from JTF in Lincoln yesterday. Got some last year and not much left. Very good product. The one on the right by the way.lol

If I'm going into. A lot of insects I spray the front of the car with a veg oil pan spray and 99% of the bugs wash right off. An old street rodder trick from years gone by that still works! JIM
Ouch lol! To be fair mate its been brilliant. Excellent on the old mpg and after 1700 miles still got out of it without back ache!
