Red Bull technical guru Adrian Newey has remained coy when asked about rumors linking him with a big-money move to Ferrari in the near future.

Paddock speculation has suggested that Ferrari has offered Newey – the finest car designer in Formula 1 – a huge salary to leave four-time champions Red Bull and move to Italy. The team has been struggling in recent years with its car, and president Luca di Montezemolo is growing increasingly frustrated with the on-track displays.

^^^ This may be on the cards Gary, he has achieved so much at RedBull and is maybe ready for a new challenge. I would like to see that :)

FP2 - Alonso pips Hamilton in rain-hit session in Monaco
Raikkonen ended up bottom of the pile, 27s down, after his mechanical woes.
Normal service will probably be resumed in FP3 on Saturday morning - but only if the weather stays dry…

  1. 12:58:
Nico Rosberg is first out of the garage, the Mercedes driver rolling down the pit lane and stopping at the pit lane exit in anticipation of the green light. Traffic will be an issue in this session, so if you're first out, you'll have a clear track ahead of you.

      FIRST QUALIFYING STARTS
Here we go, then. It's time for qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix. Nico Rosberg leads Lewis Hamilton out of the pits.

        SPIN!
Daniil Kvyat loses the rear end coming out of the tunnel, the Toro Rosso spins with the front wing making contact with the barriers and ripping off the nose. The rest of the car looks undamaged, though, and the Russian is able to retreat back to the pits.

        1. 13:17:
What is Marcus Ericsson playing at? Felipe Massa gives the Caterham room at Mirabeau, but Ericsson comes in too hot and slides into the Brazilian sending both into the barriers.
        1. 13:18:
          FIRST QUALIFYING ENDS

Jean-Eric Vergne finishes fastest in the first part of qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix.

POLE POSITION

Nico Rosberg takes pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix but is under investigation for the yellow flag incident.
Nico Rosberg says he is "surprised" that the stewards are investigating the incident, adding: "They'll see in the data it is all very similar to the lap before and I just locked up the front tyre."
Eight years ago, Michael Schumacher was stripped of pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix and demoted to last after race stewards decided the German deliberately stopped on the track after running wide, stopping rivals setting a faster time. the inquiry took EIGHT hours.
Keke Rosberg, father of Nico, called Michael Schumacher a "cheap cheat" after the German deliberately stopped out on track in 2006 Monaco Grand Prix qualifying. "It was the worst thing I have seen in Formula 1,"
"I thought he had grown up. He should leave F1 to honest people."
Mercedes motorsport director Toto Wolff said: "I don't think anybody does that deliberately in modern Formula 1. He [Rosberg] missed his braking, which was in order to beat his team mate, and he took the exit.
When asked if he was uncomfortable about the incident, Nico Rosberg: "Of course I need to apologise for having ruined his [Lewis Hamilton's] lap. But that's the way it is."

Quest McLaren: That was a very cunning and deliberate move by Rosberg. If it was a mistake, he should have stayed away from the track, but reversed back to ensure the yellow flags stayed on! Top it off with a celebration just to rub it in on Lewis...I can't wait for the first corner tomorrow!

Ziad ElBarcelonisma: Nico Rosberg cheat. Really lost a lot of respect for him today after seeing his smug face in the press conference. Go Lewis

Debs Bream: It's easy to be cynical, but if anything it's a hollow victory. Real victory comes from beating the opposition fairly. Feel for all out on track for the end of Q3

THE TOP 10

Ooh this is going to run and run until the stewards decision, and probably for a while after that...

What do you think Mike? Did he do it on purpose, or did he make a mistake.

Ahum....my point of view? He did and he did not.
Put it this way, he realizes that he has caused himself a problem and then thinks, hang on a sec........:angelic:
