  1. 13:03:
    GO! GO! GO!
Nico Rosberg makes a good start from pole with Valtteri Bottas tucking into second. Kevin Magnussen flies away from fourth, pulling alongside Felipe Massa as they approach Turn One. Magnussen clips the rear of Massa's Williams, flipping the Brazilian over. He slides along upside down before flipping back over. What has Massa got to do to catch a break?
  2. In Summary
    • Race restarted after crash
    • Massa flips in first-corner crash
    • Rosberg leads
    • Hamilton up to 13th
    • Massa out

Here's another shot of the first corner accident at the start, which put Felipe Massa out on the first lap for the second successive race.

  1. Mercedes: There were three in the bed and the other one said move over!! @LewisHamilton passes the @redbullracing and @InsideFerrari in one move!

    1. LAP 23
"Lift and coast Checo, lift and coast," says Sergio Perez's engineer. The Mexican replies: "What about rain?" His engineer replies: "We can't rely on that so please lift and coast. That's the last time I'm going to ask you."

    2. TEAM RADIO
Lewis Hamilton's team engineer: "We need to go to menu magic for pit stop." Hamilton: "I have never heard of that switch."

    3. LAP 30

Lewis Hamilton makes contact with Jenson Button at the hairpin, the Mercedes driver breaks a piece of his front wing after making a very late move on his former team-mate.

    4. TEAM RADIO
Lewis Hamilton: "I've damaged my front wing - I thought he was letting me through."

    5. GET INVOLVED - #bbcf1 or text 81111
      Rowan Burrows:‏ I don't think I've seen someone apologise at 180mph before

David: That's what makes Hamilton and Button such good racers. They don't moan, but get on with it.

Disco Stu: How many cars has Lewis hit today? Wouldn't give him a regular licence

    6. GET INVOLVED - #bbcf1 or text 81111
Rachel T: This is motor racing, not fairy cake making. LOVING the charge from @LewisHamilton!

Christine Higgins: I think today's #GermanGP is 'what parts of my car can I lose without dropping time' sort of race.

    7. TEAM RADIO
Lewis Hamilton's team engineer: "We will try and add as much balance as we can with the wing you have got. You will lose time if we change the wing."

    8. TEAM RADIO
Lewis Hamilton: "This front left isn't going to last." His engineer replies: "OK Lewis, we'll look at the options."

    9. LAP 44

Lewis Hamilton pits, has a front wing adjustment and swaps to the super-soft tyres. He rejoins fifth.

    10. GET INVOLVED - #bbcf1 or text 81111
Fahd Muller: @lewishamilton is flying, now that's a true CHAMPION!!

John Wilson: Hamilton really driving the socks out of that car

Steven Hall: ‏Kvyat with his car on fire. No matter how safe this sport is, things like this sadly happen. Glad he is alright.

    11. Following fire which engulfed Kamui Kobayashi's Caterham on Friday, the fire extinguishers were required again as Daniil Kvyat had to eject himself from the car pretty quickly when it burst into flames.

Dazzler The best driver in F1 is Alonso, but Hamilton showed his class today and ranks among the greatest. Shame about Massa

Valtteri Bottas is the first Williams driver to take three successive podium finishes since Juan Pablo Montoya at the 2003 German, Hungarian and Italian Grands Prix.

That's also Williams' 300th podium as the team move up to third in the constructors' championship.

...managed to get through the day to watch the highlights without any spoilers.

Some utterly fantastic scrapping on the track. Proper racing again. Perhaps these should reverse the grid occasionally and put the fast cars at the rear.

Would have been an easy 1-2 for Mercedes if Hamilton had a go at qualifying. Not sure who would have finished first though!

A look back at "new technology" in the days of the mustachio'd flat cap wearing superhero himself. The most technically advanced F1 cars of their time... The Williams FW14 & FW14B. Featuring Active Suspension & Traction Control. Back in the day when you only had 2 buttons on your steering wheel :)

I've just done my predictions. I'm putting everything on Hamilton this weekend. Pole, winner, fastest lap.

He has to get his thing on this weekend, or I think he will be out of the running.

Come on Lewis...
