I'm hoping it will be rolling tomorrow pal, sick of seeing it on axle stands, then all I have to do is a colour change both interior and exterior, I really feel that the tough stuff is behind me, going to do the oils on the diff and box tomorrow.

Great job Sean, you've done a huge amount of work on that zed and you're bound to feel benefit of it all once your behind the wheel.
I imagine you'll feel much better once it's off the axle stands as you mentioned .
Looking forward to seeing it in September .

Got the frame up and in place, it couldn't have been easier, up on a jack in one piece and it literally fell into place, however thats when I hit a problem, I fitted the brackets to the bottom of the main beam bush and tried to get the 8mm bolts in place, tightened the main nut only to find that the bracket was about 8mm to low, the only answer was to drop the whole frame and shorten the bush sleeves, too 8mm off each side put them back in place and wound them up, they have compressed really well and the 8mm bolts went straight in,
I spoke to Duraflex and he said that they are generic and will need cutting, load of darn if you ask me

Having done a not dissimilar amount of restoration during my 2.2 engine replacement project last year I know how many hours go into this sort of thing. Possibly some people would be shocked by just how much but it’s measured in low hundreds of hours not tens of hours. It takes over your life for several months.

So a major well done Sean, especially for sharing progress and informing and inspiring people along the way.

I know the elation you will feel when it’s back on the ground and then moving by itself.

But of course there is still lots of stuff to do even then.

Thanks Robert, it is all consuming, joking aside I do lose sleep over it, I wake up early hours with the build going through my head and all the problems I may hit, I had set a dead line for today, that was for the car to be on its wheels, all was going great and by 1pm all I had to do was replace the oils and bleed the brakes, thought I'd get the brakes out of the way first, thats when disaster struck, I sheard off both rear bleed nipples, that bought me to a grinding halt, I tried drilling one and an easy out all to no avail, not sure what route to take now.

From personal experience Sean, the short answer is a pair of exchange callipers. I think it was Ant who found some at a good price?

Tony.

ps. I have tried removing old screws over the years and have never been successful.

I can see if I have a pair which I’ll try and remove the bleed nipples from before sending.

Be a shame to use it now.
I agree, and there was that lovely 2.2 up the road he could've got to actually drive . . . . . . ;)=))

Tony.
