A year in the making.... Update 22/1/18

Bit of a bargain there Ant.

They are really as no surcharges either same caliper Z3 and 4

That's Good, they usually want your old ones now days. Good find mate.

It's true that they normally want your old unit But, especially in the case of dealers, all they want is to stop the old core units getting into the re manufacturing supply chain. Why would they want your old units when they can make these at that price and make a profit?

Tony.

Makes you wonder doesn't it as you said Tony manufactured to an ISO rating at about half the cost of others with out your old core.
As you say they are still making too !! The package was sent next day u.k mail take that off the price too as it was free postage and they are a bargain!

Calipers look good

Interested to hear what you think once they’re fitted and you’ve had a go with them.

Front brakes and braided hoses fitted today they have made a difference the car is far less laboured as the original drivers side caliper was binding .
Will get the car tracked up this week and hopefully thats the front rebuilt and all working as it should.

Looking good mate, did you need washers for mountings of the braided hoses?

Tony.

They came with some copper washes 4 for hose to caliper and two bigger washes and they stop the hose pulling through the mount.
I may need some for the rear not sure on how they will bolt up till i strip it and look.

Thanks Tony i was trying to find your thread earlier but could not find it :(
Was looking to see how you did it i remembered the washer bit but was unsure how you used them

The ones I got were slightly too small diameter to go onto the hose so I had to drill them out about 1mm, then I filed a flat onto the side of the washer to allow it to sit on the mounting up against the bodywork.

The second picture is where the two new hoses join on the rear swing arm doing away with the steel pipe between the two hoses. You still need to use the bridge piece on the pipe union as well.

Thanks for the pictures I'm sure that the two rear hoses will have a copper pipe in between. From caliper its flexi to the arm then hard line then flexi off the swing arm but i think i will need washers to keep the flexi's tight in the brackets.

My Z4 had two hoses one of which had a short metal ferrule crimped onto it (about 6" long) but the new hoses were a short one which ran from the calliper to the swing arm and a longer one which came from the body mount (picture) directly to the other hose doing away with the metal part in between the hoses. I hope that makes sense.

Yours could be the same?

Tony.

The hard line on the z3 is about 2 ft long it spans the intire arm. The new hoses are all similar to the front hose but are all seperateand the copper stays

Pipes 5/10 are the new braided lines part six is copper 862mm long.

You're right mate, I had forgotten how the Z3 is piped !

Tony.

Ihave just collatted all the clips and spacer part numbers in real oem will buy them all new. Trying to make sure i have every part so the job goes smooth

Tracking completed today and front wheels rebalanced.
After all the front bush changes the p bush moved the rear of the front arms to the required position. This made the front toe out on both sides although the drive wasn't too bad having it corrected along with the brakes etc has made it feel like a new car.
Far more engaging from the front and completely rattle and creak free . Well worth the effort if the rear end re build gives the ssme result its going to feel a very special car
Heres the print out was advised the rear end was sat near perfect for toe so as its not adjustable its nice to know.
