A Derbyshire pootle

Can't blame me for that one @Grumpy  Anyway I finished the car cleaning and then evicted some Bluetits and then hit the driveway, which was a pigging mess. Starting to look much better now though. I love gardening ................................................ :(

Tony.

While you have your bailiff hat on,can you come and evict our resident starlings ?.......sodding things crapping all over the drive and the cars .
Only last weekend I jet washed the drive and it already looks like the floor of a chicken pen !.

Birds can be a real pain mate, much worse than cats. These had fond their way in to the shower extractor fan pipe and built a nest and had babies before we spotted it. Anyway I checked this afternoon and the young birds had all flown the coop so I fitted a new grille on the house wall and left an eviction notice!:)

Great photos @Bozzy :p
Glad you had a good day ;)

I've decide we need an app that shows where fellow Zedders are - the Z version of other well known apps;-)

That way, when we're out on glorious days like today we can work out where everyone is so we can have impromptu cruises, meets and cream teas!

@Bozzy we must have crossed paths today!

Great idea to know where people are based love to know how many are in the Hertfordshire area as I don't see many Zeds occasionally see a white one with white wheels in the Broxbourne area.
Sounds a great idea for meeting local people.

...Dave is having to give the Zed a good clean
Why I hear you ask, I'll leave him to explain  but I can tell you Panther suffered the same fate lol
While out in the Peaks yesterday we managed to find a few roads which had been 'surfaced dressed'. Which is basically a thin layer of tar and loads of stone chippings chucked on. After a while a road sweeper comes along and sweeps up the surplus chippings. So, we meet one of the said road sweepers on a single track road with high hedges on both sides. I pulled in to a passing place and waited for it to pass. It took up the full width of the road so it was only when it got level with my front bumper did I realise there was a huge amount of dust being blown up. We got covered as I had the tonneau on and couldn't close the roof. We just had to sit there and wait. We were absolutely filthy and the inside of the car was too. :( More cleaning to do...

The app bit I suspect is relatively simple. It's all the admin and security that is the issue.

Would be good though wouldn't it.

I looked at apps today to see of there was anything that could be used .
Found an app called wheres everyone. You can switch it on and it pin points you on a map via GPS you can assign a group ie Zroadster and then upto 50 users at a time can log on and see everyone else.
You dissappear as you sign out.
Doesn't allow any comms in it though which is a shame but if people are heading out i suppose combined with the forum people could see each other an locate.

I would have been a tad annoyed it that was me .
Bloody stone chippings are a menace and dangerous,we pay all that money in road tax and what do we get in return..........3rd world roads that tear your car apart, shot blasted paintwork from chippings in summer, and metal eating road salt in winter !!!.
Any way sorry to hear you and your zeds got covered in dust.....I'll stop whining now ;).
I think I know where you mean we saw some surfacing machines and followed a truck loaded to the brim with stone chippings dropping all over the place so we backed right off......didn't want my new screen damaging .
Other than that looks like you had a top day out ,

Therein lies my worries about security. You're handing over position and personal data over to a provider who no doubt wants additional information to use their service. You don't know what they might use the data & information for - most will pass it on (i.e. sell it) to the interested parties.

Agree - an app that you can click on a user on a map and instantly message them would be very useful indeed (also if SIRI and the android equivalent was enabled!). Also, if you're travelling, if you could say where and arrival time (or calculate your arrival time using Google traffic) then others could use that information.
Any group all with the same destination can become a group and so you have group messaging. I'm claiming copyright to these ideas :D

I'm beginning to like this idea!

I think most have said what area they are from but there's so many on this forum it's hard to keep track of who lives where.
It's just nice occasionally not to travel so far for a cruise or a meet and natter make friends or meet up for conveys on events.
I have since learnt Andy @windym is just a couple of miles away. I have seen others from Stevenage Hitchin and so on in the Hertfordshire area.
Sound sounds a great idea to me.

You can see where people are based (but now where they actually are at any point in time). Click Member on the menu bar and then User Map.
