Whilst the body is being worked upon, the rear handle is being repaired.
the original chrome paint was chipped and peeling on the underneath edge.
The chrome had not bonded to the primer and using an air gun it just peeled off all the paint.
it’s now prepared and ready for chrome tomorrow.
Different paint shop this time which looks far better quality.
if this is as good as expected, I’ll have the bumpers redone too,

Meanwhile at the paint shop
I don't know about anyone else, but I am going to be scared witless to touch my car once it comes back from the bodyshop.
I am going to have to buy even more towels than I have already.

Oh, haha.
Not a problem really, there isn’t much to go back on. It’s only a few screws here and there holding the lights.
I’ll get someone to help with the bumpers as that’s the only big item,

More prep work
When mine goes to the bodyshop next week, I am not going to visit until it's time to sign it off to start the paint. I can't bear my baby looking a mess (again).

I had to collect something from the shop but it also allowed me to chat through a small issue I knew about and they weren’t sure about.
next time I see the car will be after primer, prior to top coat.
they also found a couple of flat spots I had missed, which shows their skill set is far higher than mine, 😁

Hopefully that is why we pay them lots of money.
I think they earn their money TBH. I couldn't think of much worse than working in an environment like that every day.

Z3 2.2 Kobra rebody (see pic)
When my Kobra was done my paint shop spotted a mismatch in rear wing shape around the boot and made it much more aligned. Amongst other things.

I was so pleased when I picked it up I shocked the painter when I gave him a bloo_y big hug.

Today is Chrome Paint day.
Hopefully this will be the best version and last time this is done.
The instructions supplied to the painters by the product suppliers are somewhat vague, and their own trials have shown the way forward.
update to follow
