I have let some close forum friends aware I've been diagnosed with a bit of a health issue recently. I wasn't going to open it up to discussion but sitting here on my jollies thinking and I feel It would maybe help others.
I have been having abdominal/chest pains for the last couple of months along with bouts of breathlessness. I put it down to indigestion issues from a previous medical procedure I had 3 years ago.
Unfortunately last week I had to have an ambulance out to get me sorted after suffering what felt like a heart attack, very constricted chest and awful pain. The only way they could get the pain to subside was by giving me a GTN spray to open up the arteries.
I've been rushed through the system and had various tests and have now been diagnosed with Angina.
This isn't a death sentence thank God but can lead to heart attacks and strokes if not dealt with so looks like a warning to get things sorted. I'm now waiting for further tests to see if I require stents fitting to sort it out. I now have to carry my GTN spray with me everywhere and have already had to use it twice so it's doing it's job.
I appriciate some of you guys on here are really going through it with certain illnesses at the moment but decided to flag this up incase anyone else is suffering similar symptoms. Don't leave it to chance, please to get yourself checked.

Stay well gezzers :)
Grumps.

Sorry to hear this news Dave however Angina is quite common and very treatable so just look on the bright side.
Just heed the doctors advice and take it easy.

I'm so sorry to hear about your illness @Grumps :(
Hopefully the spray will help you :)
What joys we all have to look forward to in getting old ;)
But at least we're all here ;)
Fingers crossed you don't have to use the spray too often :)
Take care ;):)

Sorry to hear that.

In case anyone has the same symptoms and has a fear of being told it’s angina, then there are more innocent explanations. So don’t be afraid to get it checked out is the point.

My ex thought she was having a heart attack with crushing chest pains and it turned out to be tightening of the chest wall cartilage called
costochondritis.

I had similar symptoms a couple of years ago and it was purely muscular that an osteopath sorted.

My dad had that, something to do with the breakfast fry ups I think. Used a spray on the tongue (nitro glycerine?) so easily manageable. Get yourself retired Dave and chilling in France, sooo much less pressure I'm led to believe. Nurse Julie to the rescue ;)

Yeah I'm on nitro glycerine Adrian. Hopefully they'll fit a stent or two and i can come off it. It tastes rank and gives you a headache :arghh:
