fit a turbo or supercharger
Yes, I had the 2.0 for 6.5 years and was always quite happy with it but at the time was the biggest engine I could afford. Coming from an E36 325 I always found it slightly under powered and did have my foot flat to the floor most of the time to get anything out of it. I took it on the Welsh cruise last year and it wasn't out of it's league but I always fancied a faster one. Originally I wanted a 3.0 but the prices were still well out of my range and infact I only purchased the 2.8 because it was a bargain. It was the best move I made and the difference in power was amazing and it goes well enough without having your foot flat down on the accelerator all the time. Since having it I have done the M54 manifold conversion which again made a pretty big difference and it pulls like a train all the way through the gears now and doesn't seem to want to stop. Yes if I could I would have a 3.0 but I would be looking 3-4K at least, on top of what I paid for the 2.8 for not a massive jump in BHP. For that money I would want something with the BHP of an ///M but obviously price wise that didn't work.@g8jka changed from the 2.0 to the 2.8 and has now done the M54 manifold swap too. He know exactly the differences.
Being the cars different don't want to make wrong conclusions ahahYou could always try a Z4 2.5 or 3.0 Rui, if only to see the differences.
Tony.
Don't want to modify it engine wise Cheersfit a turbo or supercharger

The best thing to do is have a test drive, there are plenty of 2.8's out there and if your in no rush you will find a bargain and may not even have to add any money towards the cost of one once you sell the 2.0. Obviously the 3.0 would be the obvious choice but you are probably looking at least double of what you will pay for a 2.8 and are they double the fun, I don't think so as the 2.8 is a mighty fine car.
Erm, interesting the 20 Kg difference between the M42 & the M44, wonder where that went?
Very true.who knows the secret of the black magic box....!!!!
Yes mate i drove Tonys old 2.0. Big differance between them. Yep a 3.0 would be nice but the price difference is considerable and i personally prefer pre face life cars. 3.0 only comes as a facelift.Have you ever drove one with the 2.0L engine? If yes did you feel much difference?
When I was buying my car I test drove a 2.2 that felt quicker already but was the same money and way worse condition.
Thanks
The 2.2s do sound great.I met with @Low Rider on Sunday and have to say his Zed sounded really good.
If there's nothing wrong with mine and still doesn't go I might give the 2.2 a goThe 2.2s do sound great.
Make sure its OEM helium from the dealerthink i fill my tyres with helium tomorrow see if it makes any difference...
