Hamilton: I don't understand what I've got to do.

Race engineer: Need to target low 34s. Let us know your tag mode so we can make a decision.

Hamilton: I am doing 34.3, is that enough?

Race engineer: Copy Lewis, we just need to know how hard you are pushing.

Mercedes team radio: Alright, Lewis it is (the Mercedes strategy engineer) James. The main thing at the moment is that Vettel may not stop. Go to tag 2 and let me know what the times are going to be.

Hamilton: Like I said, I am driving to target that means I am tag 2.

Lewis Hamilton: Feels like you guys are not giving me much of a picture.

Race engineer: Lewis, the target is 34.0, we need to get that pace up or we will not make the catch.

Good result for my Fantasy GP but not want I wanted

Makes not much difference for me as my predictions did not load anyhow ....

'I thought he would catch me'

Race winner Sebastian Vettel: "I think I came on the radio with 10 laps to go saying everything was under control. That was a lie. With Bottas' pace I thought he would catch me. I tried to keep it as clean as possible.

"Our plan worked but just, Bottas had a bit of a sniff but ran out of laps."

Summary
  1. Vettel holds on to win, Bottas 2nd, Hamilton up to 3rd from 9th
  2. Raikkonen runs over own mechanic in pits
  3. Hamilton overtakes three cars in one corner
  4. Both Red Bulls out early on
  5. Ricciardo, Verstappen, Raikkonen out

'We will come back strong in China'

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff, speaking to Sky Sports: "With a two and three we have to be happy after yesterday."

"We need to stay humble, we were not great on Friday and Saturday. The heat is not something we like, the track surface is not good for us. We will come back strong in China, hopefully."

On the Hamilton-Verstappen incident: "It was a racing incident. Max dived in on the inside, a good move, bit aggressive pushing Hamilton out but I think most drivers would have done that."

I give Wolff a  for that last comment.

The most entertaining F1 race I have seen in a long time. Bet Hamilton would have got past Vettel if the positions (Bottas/Hamilton) had been reversed. Whoever is responsible for pushing the green go button likely caused the mechanic to break his leg, not Raikkonen me thinks.

Whoever is responsible for pushing the green go button

'I go when the light is green'

Kimi Raikkonen, speaking to the media about the incident when one of his mechanics got injured: "I don't know what shape he is in. For sure, not great for him."

What happened? "I go when the light is green. I don't see what happens behind and unfortunately he got hurt. My job is to go when the light is green, I don't know more than that and hopefully he is OK."

'A PROPER F1 race'

Mercedes sum up everybody's thoughts after that one. Brilliant excitement.
