Singapore shock........

Will it be Ferrari or will it be Red Bull who take victory?

Can Lewis Hamilton or Nico Rosberg battle through from an unfamiliar position to win, or could there be another Singapore surprise in store?

Love it........

Worth remembering that Verstappen started from the pit lane after stalling at the start. Fantastic from the teenager.

Interesting development late on.
Max Verstappen is told he needs to swap positions with Carlos Sainz.

"No!" snaps Verstappen. What will he do?

David Coulthard
BBC F1 co-commentator

"Fantastic, absolutely top-drawer driving from Verstappen. The skills he has are incredible."

Mansell impressed by Verstappen

Force India's Nico Hulkenberg is not happy with his three-place grid penalty in Japan for crashing into Felipa Massa.

He tells BBC F1's Lee McKenzie: "No good news, that's for sure. The incident, he's coming out of the pits, the way I see it I was ahead. I was aware he was coming out of the pits but I was ahead."

Jenson Button's McLaren collides into the back of Pastor Maldonado and loses his front wing. Straight into the pits and that's a real points opportunity lost.

Play nice chaps (To Maldonado)

"I should have known really," laments Jenson Button after that tangle with Pastor Maldonado.

David Coulthard
BBC F1 co-commentator

"One thing you can say about Maldonado, he guarantees good TV time."

No reason to let Sainz past - Verstappen

Right, so let's hear some more from Toro Rosso about Max Verstappen's refusal to let team-mate Carlos Sainz pass him in the closing stages.
The teenager had been ordered to let Sainz go by his team so the Spaniard could attack Force India's Sergio Perez.

First up, Verstappen himself.

He told Sky Sports: "The whole race I had good pace so for me there was no reason to let him past.
"If it was the other way round, I think he would do the same thing."

I wanted shot at Perez - Sainz

Sainz, unsurprisingly, does not agree:

"Let the guy on newer tyre have shot," he said. "I wanted that shot and he never gave it to me.
"It is not an issue for me."

Verstappen right to refuse order - Toro Rosso boss

Toro Rosso team principal Franz Tost says that Max Verstappen was correct to refuse the order given to him by the team.
He told Sky Sports: "Carlos had newer tyres so we thought we could swap positions.
"But Max was right because Carlos was not closing up. Carlos was always four or five-tenths back. If he wants to swap positions, he needs to be closer."

Alonso 'frustrated' by lack of power...........

Fernando Alonso marked the 10th anniversary of his first world title by finishing 11th, but it was a day of frustration for the Spaniard, as he got into the points, but was unable to hold that position and vented a couple of times on team radio, calling it "embarrassing" after he was overtaken by a Sauber.

Asked by Lee McKenzie about his comments on the radio - he referred to racing a "GP2 engine" and said the car's performance was "very embarrassing" - Alonso said:

Radio complaints not constructive - Dennis

McLaren team boss Ron Dennis wasn't best pleased by Fernando Alonso's complaints over team radio during the race - when he vented his frustration at racing with a "GP2 engine" and describing the car's performance as "very embarrassing".

"It's not very constructive when you are trying to build a stronger relationship [with Honda management]," he said.

"Do I condone it? No. Am I going to go ballistic? No. I will handle it in my own way and my way is not in public.

"I can understand it - it's not just one race."

Ron Dennis getting a good grilling from @therealdcf1 and @suziperry - so the McLaren driver line-up won't be changing next year?

More from McLaren team boss Ron Dennis as he says he wants to keep Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso in 2016.

"Jenson is on a two-year contract and Fernando on a three-year contract. It's as simple as that," he says.

"I told Jenson on Thursday - probably too late - that I have no intention of exercising the option [to cancel his contract]."

Oooh.....Suzi Perry.......still miss her in MotoGP in her leathers.......:joyful:

Red flag. Carlos Sainz's Toro Rosso is into the barrier. It looks like a big crash.

Max Verstappen asks if his team-mate is OK but Toro Rosso report that there was a loss of power, so they were unable to get on the radio to check.

Toro Rosso team radio:
Verstappen: "Is he OK, because it looked like big one." "We don't know - we lost power."

There were some tyre marks on the circuit before where Carlos Sainz crashed, as well what would appear to be black marks on the wall, perhaps where the Toro Rosso made contact before skidding to where it crashed.

Carlos Sainz lost control of the Toro Rosso heading into Turn 13, he hit the wall side on and it propelled him straight into the barrier directly ahead.

"All ok! Nothing to worry about! Already thinking about how to convince doctors to let me run tomorrow"

Russian flat screen TV........:D
Good work from the doctors at the hospital where Carlos Sainz is staying, they have managed to fix him up with a television to watch qualifying.

Lewis Hamilton is out prowling round a Ferrari, getting a closer look at the competition.

He is having a right old look actually, he has been at it for ages.

No @Mac, they have already and I don't think Hamilton will be going anywhere near Ferrari in the foreseeable future.

Aug 19, 2015 ...Ferrari have announced that Kimi Raikkonen (and Vettel) will stay with the team for the 2016 season, ending speculation about the Finn's future.

Moderately interesting Russian GP but what a dull place Sochi is, looks like an abandoned theme park.

Contact between Nico Hulkenberg and Marcus Ericsson at the start.
Replays show Hulkenberg spun at the first corner, tagged Max Verstappen's Toro Rosso and then Marcus Ericsson could not get out of the way quick enough.

Grosjean lost the rear end of his Lotus at Turn 3 and went into the wall. He walked away from the scene.
