Oh, and maybe a surprise visitor?

Tony.

ps. And don’t forget to put your clocks on 1 hour when you get home, it’s light nights on Sunday!

Another really good day at the ZedShed; this time I had some work to do in the car. As always Tony was very happy to help us poor two left-handed sods… ;) Front trailing arms, including fixing an ill fitted poly bush (great improvisation by Tony), and new rear springs.

The result was a car with a completely different handling: tight, secure, and fun to drive. Thank you!

I am looking forward to the next opportunity to help everyone else, albeit with my less than stellar spannering skills. :p

Note: I've not mentioned anyone else, because I am lousy with names — sometimes I can't even remember my own name… But, you you know who you are, and thank you very much for the help!

Apologies for not making it this morning, I did set an alarm but it was absolutely rabid outside early doors. While I was pondering I nodded back off and woke up too late to pop over. Dammit. Hope it was a decent Shed !

Hope the weather was kinder to you than it was to me . . .

Another big thanks to Tony for all the help and advice. My Z3 was serviced and squeaky windscreen wipers sorted out. Was great to chat to everyone. It was definitely a z3 day with Tony’s car being the only z4.
We did get you a buttie Alex but Tony has said he will have it for breaky tomorrow haha. Hope to see everyone at the next one.

Sorry I couldn't come over today, missed the butties/chat/banter/p**s taking. I did do a small job over at Mint Towers though. I replaced the air conditioner compressor drive belt and tensioner...

Tony.

Almost, you cant quite see it but there was a small trolley jack under the arm lifting it up to the ramp. You should've seen the Poly bushes which came off, previously fitted by a BMW Specialist. o_O Jose went out for a road test and returned with a big smile on his face saying it drives so much better now. Made my day!

Today I went out in the morning for errands. Even though it was raining, I took the Z3, as I was going to meet a fellow forum member (@PCD) later in the morning. Even on wet roads, full of pot holes, the car feels completely different.

Actually, the car even seems to be faster now. ;)

Thanks again Tony.

Ready for the next one, or servicing my mates Skoda one night this week.

The Shed day was fairly busy, starting with a Z3 service and a Z3 front lower arms and lollipops and rear springs. Luckily I had a pair of lollipops "on the shelf" because the person who had fitted the poly bushes had fitted them incorrectly and on lowering the arm from the car they fell to bits. The car must've been a real pig to drive. Next a Z3 for service and sort squeaky windscreen wiper arms. Earlier in the morning saw Carl with his lovely Z3 with airbag light on which appeared to be the n/s stalk faulty. He has one at home so we'll see when he gets it fitted.
Last Z3 of the day needed the under bonnet trim panel removing and the w/water jets, pipes and non-return valve blowing out.
It was really nice to see @Brian4 call in and he stayed to help with the front suspension work on Jose's car while Jose and Phil did the rear springs. Many thanks to Brian, assistance greatly appreciated. As Dave said a yard full of Z3s for a change, including Dawn who we haven't seen since before the 1st lockdown. Sorry no pictures apart from one which showed the cunning plan we used to get the rubber lollipop bushes onto the suspension arms.

Ready for next the Shed day somewhere between mid June and mid July.

Tony.

ps. Hope you're soon feeling better Paul.

Really good to see old and new faces. Sorry I didn't stop to tidy up but had to get back for yhe results from the village spring flower show. We had a great turnout and the village hall decorated and I got a first and second prize for my exhibits.

So a great day all round including the weather.
