Just a quick note to say thanks to Tony and Shirley for hosting us today. I know I for one enjoyed the day. Mue tells me she had a great matter with Shirley. And a big thanks to Alex for the buttons oh no I mean the butties.
Thank you @t-tony for today: oil & filter, air filters all done. Note to me: the oil filter includes a replacement sump plug, no need to order a spare Alex . . . Doh !
Rear brakes diagnosed (bu . . . need new pads & sensor), front pads a bit better. Will Put Fix . . .
Sausage & egg button was excellent - I'm sure there was half a packet of sausages on it. Good job I don't live nearer, it would cost me a fortune . . . In new trousers !
I now know more about fitting a stainless steel exhaust (especially the manifolds) to an E85. Its a . . . Its . . . (tries to think of kind words) . . . Its lots of work ! Kudos to @t-tony for today . . .
No, removing the steering section between the bottom of the column and the steering. Biggest issue was he had to source the 2 mani-cats from 2 different suppliers. One of which was from B&M of Mansfield, and their stuff is absolute crap when it comes to fitting.
Sounded good Alex. We fitted the centre pipe onto the cat flanges then turned the car round and reversed over the pit to do the rear end. It sounded about like the original system till the back box went on then it was quieter. Didn’t record it though.
I can’t be arsed to go in the Shed and put tools away, it can wait tomorrow.
ZedShed (Midlands) open this Saturday 8th October if anyone fancies a lunchtime butty, or has anything needs doing. Cant do next Saturday as we’re attending a wedding. Doors open at 10.00.
