My mate came up today to help me get some overdue service work done.
First on the block was Shirl's Eos for oil and filter. I had it on up ready for the belly pan off when Roy arrived and after a cuppa we took the pan (alloy and a bit awkward on your own) off and dropped the oil. After finishing the oil burner we got Roy's beast in for oil and filter. Sadly Roy had been supplied an incorrect oil filter,

so we had a steady bimble into Lincoln to get a correct one.

When we got back Lincolnshire sausage butties were ready:thumbsup:. After lunch we finished the beast and took the plastic pan off my car (or, to be honest Roy did while I saw to the man who bought my compressor).
After getting the oil and filter done we went round the road test circuit leaving the pan off to see exactly where my coolant is leaking from (I've been adding some red antifreeze to colour the coolant to help locate the leak) and, still nothing obvious so left it overnight and will look in the morning.
Had a great day again thanks to Roy for his help.

Tony.

Made me smile anyway Mark.

Mind you, he always does.

Thought you had previously found the source of the leak Tony. Obviously not the case or is there another one?

Not done anything as yet Keith as I'm still not sure where it's coming from.
I may end up taking the water pump and stat housing off just to see if I can see where it's coming from, but then when they're off will fit the new ones I have. Hopefully there will be a little puddle under it this morning.

Tony.

Well, having got the car up to temp. yesterday afternoon with the pan off we left it overnight on a dry floor to spot where the leak is coming from.
Here's the results.

Nothing, with a capital N!

Plan "A" I think Roy @Rha .

You sure Shirl's not creeping out and spraying water all over the engine bay when you not around?:D

Well hope it’s good news with the leak Tony, with very little water on any one component it looked to me like this was going to be untraceable. Maybe just maybe you’ve scared it away or it’s just cured itself.:banghead:

Yep thanks to Tony for running me into Lincoln for a filter the jobs a good un. With this being my first oil change on the coupe I had no idea they’d sent me the wrong filter having not laid eyes on a M52 oil filter before. Won’t bother ordering on internet again as I stipulated Z4 E86 coupe N52K B30si engine. Had the filter for a couple of months in advance of the job and did check that it had a O ring and drain plug copper washer, shame I didn’t check if it was the correct one.
Next years oil change will be at home with the right filter etc. I used Fuch Titan 5w-30w.

Whilst at Tony’s I found out just how heavy a compressor is and how useful a skate board is for moving it, that Churchill ad on tele has got nothing on what we did.:facepalm::facepalm:.

Roy;)

Plus the loud noises .............. ;)

As for the loud noise when we lifted it, it wasn’t yours truly letting go or Tony well known for his but Tony lifting it at the front by the 1/2in pipe outlet breaking it clean off, luckily we had it just over the top step of the vans side door, the sudden burst of 190lbs compressed air went with a rifle shot bang covering the two old timers reckless nervous flatulence which would have been embarrassing in other situ. The buyer lifting his head slightly saying is that the old compressed air that I can smell or has one of you passed wind, to which we replied, “no not one of us,.............................BOTH”. =))=))

Roy.

No wonder you make me smile, ...... is there?

Tony.

ps. At least you didn't use @Grumps drain tray ................................ did you? =))
