Write Up ZEDFEST

I've seen a few Z4s around while I've been going around the area, but not many Z3s.

A red Z4 going through Sawley towards Long Eaton at around 1900, but that would have been far too late for you guys, and a black Z4 with no front plate followed me up the A610 from M1 Jct 26 at around 1300 near Eastwood. It may have been the one in post#14, but I don't think so.
Sounds like we're practically neighbours! I live near Ilkeston.

My first video from this year,

Tony.

Nice video Tony, thanks for sharing. Nice car at the very end of the clip :D
Looks like you were too far forward in the line to have got footage of the crazy horseman! :nailbiting:

Thanks Keith, got a few more vids to upload. Didn't see/hear about the horse incident. Where was that?

As we approached the T junction to rejoin the A6006, some crazy guy on a horse came at speed from the right hand side across the road between two of the group. I believe it was Paul's (How29) front end he could have taken off! He the just nonchalantly galloped off across the A6006 and into the fields!

Paul was the next one behind me Keith. I'll check the rear view camera tomorrow night.

Another Zedfest over for another year had a great day again with thanks going to all involved in the organisation and running of this event .
Shame about the damp start ( as it dried up nicely) as I think that put a few off from attending.
On a personal note I was really pleased that after only covered 286 miles since major engine surgery it covered the 660 mile round trip with no problem at all .
Really nice as usual to catch up with a few members and talk to some new ones not met before.
Here's a few pictures from me of the day.

Nice pictures Steve, thank you. Shame we had to leave earlier than we would have liked but at least we got Gary's Touran sold and one vehicle off our drive. Just that bloody old T4 now, or buy some chickens.:ymdevil:
Great to hear the car behaved for you, although I would expect no less mate :)

Talking to the owner on Sunday Dave. It's a small world.

Tony.

Angela Noticed Percival (the cars owner above). had a Beige tonneau for sale hanging on the fence just behind his car, we approached him and he let us try it on our car and even trusted us to pay him when we got home 2 days later, as we didnt have enough cash with us to buy it. We were both really impressed with the work he had done on this build, the attention to detail was so good. apparently this car was there last year but still had the Z3 interior. We didnt notice it last year maybe as there were so many other cars to look at..

and to top it off he won best modified prize. we were wondering what happened to the prizes as there was no mention of who had won anything, does anyone know who won the other prizes ?

We had a great time this year at Zedfest and even the morning weather didnt put us off having a great time catching up with old aquaintances and meeting new. We had the sunday night in Melton Mowbray, and the monday at Worcester our little z3 1.9 even managed to get us up to zedfest and back home total of 340 miles on as little as £45 of fuel i think that must be about 40- 45 mpg

I was running the torque app on the way home an logging throttle pedal percentage and when i got to brynmawr i noticed that we never went over 23.1% throttle pedal from worcester that soon changed when i had to get out a bit quick at the roundabout at top of brynmawr and I had to use 27% throttle pedal... no wonder we were doing so well on economy..

@handsomejackuk The OEM prize went to the red Alpina, the show and shine to the purple Z4 parked near the tea room.

The OEM prize went to the red Alpina.....
Yes, that was me - I was quite surprised when Neil came up towards the end and gave me the prize as I thought you had to submit your car for consideration in the various categories.

We saw the Ferris Bueller Ferrari replica on our way south after the show - it looked lovely on the move

It was mine Tony the horse nearly jumped over. Rider was stupid could have really hurt the horse especially cause he galloped it straight over tarmac road. Anything could have happened.

Checked the rear camera tonight but already recorded over Paul.
