After much head scratching the Zed 3's gone to the garage for a full diagnostic check, more than my small hand held could ever cover.

Taking it in this morning looking as splendid as ever but sounding like a bag of spanners i eagerly await a telephone call.

Will it be economical to repair? Its going to be a long morning! :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

Latest up date not good, Best case scenario head gasket but more likely terminal engine failure. Awaiting further news. Looks like there may be some good Zed spares coming available soon!

Was the Z3 giving you problems before you bought the Z4 Paul?

Tony.

You’ll be able to pick up an engine for next to nothing Paul, maybe an option to swap over?

When i bought the Z4 Monty was fine it was on the way back from the last show of the year Lotherton that things went pear shaped 8 miles from home started misfiring. My hand held said ECU tried to have this tested and fixed but no result so took it to the guy who does the MOT for a more detailed diagnosis. Its ended up at BMW awaiting a full diagnosis but early signs not good.
I value the car as a runner at possibly £2.2K taking £2K but with the new roof totally re furbished electric leather seats, roll bars, Tonneau cover, rear screen protector, Good alloys with good Falcon tyres plus lots more about £1300 in bits so is it worth buying an engine? If i didn't have the 4 think i would have spent whatever to keep it on the road. Love the car and really wanted it to go to someone who would enjoy it and if i thought i could get my money back by putting an engine in it i would do it but not sure that would be the case.
The Z3 was my first and introduced me to lots of great friends on here so that is priceless. Big thanks to both Tony's for the offer of help.
Will see what tomorrow brings worse case scenario i can help other Z3 owners make there cars better.
