Every penny in fact I've bought a frame for the ticket the judge gave me.ditto the Grand Canyon it would of been a mess for someone to clean up or they could of left me for the crittersLooking back, I bet it was worth it Hugh? Not many people will ever have the chance to do what you and Frankie did mate. So glad you didn't fall into the Grand Canyon.
Tony
Have to agree with BMG, prices have shot up over last few years but have now plateaued. You missed the boat mate.
I was lucky to spend a week driving across the USA with @FRANKIE in that beauty it's sitting in his driveway calling to me every day View attachment 58947
Interesting article Pingu, thank you. As with any potential investment (be it houses, stocks & shares, currency, gold, etc) the secret is to buy at the bottom and sell at the top. If the bubble is about to burst in the car market as most of the doom-mongers seem to be 'predicting' then common sense would indicate that I should sit back and wait for prices to fall through the floor and buy a low mileage, one owner, immaculate condition Z3M for £3000 lol. I wish I had such an accurate crystal ball as the ones that they seem to be using.Do you still want to take the plunge?

I think that there will always be a market for "classic" cars, but I think the market changes all the time. At the moment, there is a lot of free money around and those who had a hankering for a particular car when they were in their late teens/early twenties are fortyish and are in the market to buy those cars. If you haven't done it yet, you have missed that boat, but another will come along soon.It is true that 'classic' car values have been drastically over-inflated for a good few years now and a review of values is way overdue. I look forward to future developments with interest.
Off to buy a crystal ball now

What was the poster car in 2005 and is cheap to buy now? What cars were doing the Top Gear test track in 2005? Are any of them bargains today? They (IMO) would be a better "investment" than the poster car of 1998. I'd still look at E46 M3s or Audi RSs
I've not checked the adverts, but these are sub 70k for <£10k...

You'll have to pay a little bit more, but low mileage for around £13k...
