I've followed @Lee before and messed up my gear changes because I was too busy listening to his engine and ended up changing when he did.
If that's your reason for losing the 1/4 drag race with him then I'll take your word for it....just don't fall for it again and watch the rev counter, he won't see which way you went (anyway if it's vaguely damp the TVR will be slithering around in glorious noise and smoke not going anywhere for at least 30seconds!)

To be honest, me changing gear wasn't particularly helping anyway as he disappeared in to the distance....

Looks cracking Lee, you don't know how many times I have been tempted out of the ///M for a TVR especially when one of my mates is a TVR nut and has had quite a few over the years. Who knows it might happen yet as I do like them but can be scarily expensive however there is a great TVR specialist not far away from me who I know well so I know what I can't do I know a man who can.

How's the chassis on this one Lee as that is their Achilles heel with the dreaded rust. I wouldn't be too tempted to poly bush it if you are thinking about it as they end up being very creeky as a result which really gets on your nerves.

You are going to have lots of fun but be careful as they are not as forgiving as the ///M and will swap arses on you in the blink of an eye but enjoy all the same.

Lee asked if could give him a lift back from dropping his TVR off at a specialist for a good once over. Couldn't get in the Zed quick enough to get to Basingstoke :D...

It's hard to compare a Z3 or even an ///M to a TVR Cerbera as essentially the TVR is "supercar" territory. I'm still waiting for the passenger seat ride as we didn't have time tonight, so my experience is solely limited to following - or trying to follow him! Luckily a lot of it was in traffic so I kept up for a lot of the journey.

First the obvious thing is the noise it makes. I've followed his ///M with the Hayward and Scott exhausts and other engine tinkerings, and that was loud and sounded utterly incredible. I have now experienced possibly the loudest street going car I'm likely to ever experience and the thing sounds epic on an whole new level of epic. The sound when backing off throttle is like a machine gun, decelerating down a slip road little flames in the exhausts were spotted. I jumped when he floored it under a motorway bridge and am surprised my ears weren't bleeding afterwards/

Honestly we were sat in traffic like two school kids giggling as he blipped the throttle. The young guy in the Astra VXR trying to not look like he was looking even wound his window down to listen a little better...

Awesome car...

Thank you Frankie, yes Sunday could be a monster and I hope it turns out good and maybe we can do it each year. I would love to tell you all about it in Florida too. Are you driving down there or flying and using hire cars? I intend going across to the pub tomorrow night to finalise a few details and maybe we could Skype afterwards? Anyway, it's bedtime for me, I have work tomorrow !! Be good mate,

Tony.
