Its a big job if your doing it for the first time. You will need some serious tooling to remove them (Press/Big Puller/Burn them) My first time I spent the weekend playing around finding the best way. Either way you need to drop the subframe.
Yeah we do everything in my garage over a weekend or two. We've done over 15 zeds now as well as other cars I tinker with. Getting the beam down is a couple of hours. The hardest part of the job is the condition of the exhaust because we have to remove it, If the nuts are corroded it can be a pain!@Lee Tell me about the zed shedAfter I had the corsa fall on me I've lost all confidence in going under a car, slightly worried that a mechanic will charge excessive amounts for the job. Do you do home repairs for people?
So everyone form an orderly queue at @Lee 's Zed shedThis is a common sign the rear bushes are getting very soft. As you corner they flex making the tyres tilt and loose full contact. This disappears once those main beam bushes have bee changed.
Two options:Lee what do you do if a car, like mine, has the original one piece exhaust fitted.. cut it and rejoin it?
