Z3 Project / Rescue

You need to remove one of the kidney grills Matt, to do this you need a big fat wood pigeon! =)) @Synclare .
Seriously though, that's how you get at the back of the catches. I think the main cable goes to the O/S one with a link cable between the two catches. If neither catch has released it must be the main cable which has snapped, but have a good look near the release lever in the car to see if you can still see the end of the cable at all.

Tony.

Cheers Tony - Think the o/s one was trying to release as when I pull the catch under the dash you can hear the o/s catch under th bonnet moving so think it's the one that links the two catches together.

Looks a right bugger to undo =))

These cars are all 15-20 years old now. They are a labour of love. 1 step forward and 2 steps back is about right sometimes!

The bonnet release may seem like the final straw but there are ways in and it might be fixable for the sake of 2x £10 bonnet latches.

Is it the original radiator ? Old rads can silt up and cars get hot under load and are fine when static.

................ and probably a bit of skin and blood. ;)

Tony.

Not more skin and blood. More to add to the list I spose, including trapping a finger and losing the nail to that finger, had plenty of bruises too :( nooooo!

Ideally rad should be hot at the and cooler at the bottom when coolant is circulating correctly.

Tony.

Hate to be off topic, but it seems Photobucket has taken all your pics hostage and requires money to free them. It's happening all over, but it's really annoying as it more or less ruins this thread :-/
