Welcome from central Canada! I like you're resurrecting a spares car. I too am doing that and it's being prepared for export to Canada to join the one I bought in the UK last year. JIM

Have you sat in the car and got someone to spray the hood with a hose. This should give you a starting point if it's the hood/seals itself.
  • One usual culprit is the top of the a-pillar https://zroadster.org/threads/bmw-z3-a-pillar-leak-fix.5341.
  • The bottom corners of the rear plastic screens can also leak if the stitching has come undone. If it's damp in the carpet covering the hood storage well, this may be your problem.
  • Also the window seals go hard after a while so can need treating with something like Gummi Pflege to keep them supple.

Great to meet you this afternoon Dean and it's getting there.
Plugged into INPA diagnostics and showing Lambda sensor so prob cause of roughish tickover after clearing codes for misfire this came back
Right rear wheel speed sensor so cause of ABS light
Passenger seat tensioner missing it's wire ( hence request for one above) cause of Airbag light

Not bad for a spares or repair car so happy driving when those faults are fixed and fresh MOT.

Still haven't worked out why my INPA won't read he Airbag system now after it read first time. Still won't read on mine so will have to do some more digging.

We may take the p*** out of each other occasionally in fact quite often but we get to know you first rather than wade in.

It's so good to hear that you will save a 1.9 Zed!
It's a lovely car and after you will clear up the actual faults, it will be very faithful to you!;)
Good luck and welcome to the M44 Massive too!:)

Sorry for slow reply, busy week!

I noticed that you've got the parts sorted now, but if you need anything else let me know and I'll try and help out.

Enjoy the new car

Welcome along Millhouse. Always good to see a car returned to the road rather than relegated for scrap. Just in time for summer too!

Cheers,

Jonno
