Z3 3.0 project

A shame you couldn’t send bailiffs into his home to remove stuff to pay for it.

As for your remaining problem if the car was a keeper I would be sending it to SeanD for a pucker respray but if it’s not maybe as said just drive it with the name of the cowboy who did it as a warning to others hopefully the toerag is never going to get back in business again.
Over 5k and the bailiffs can't be sent in and the options become more "professional" in regards to what can be done. The court ruled the entire value of the car (around 6.5k) to be paid so not much else to do really

.....And the project starts again. Panels back off including doors. It was nice to see the sills were dirt free and no signs of corrosion on the inside (ok only been on for over a year) but sticking some silicone between the sills and the wheel arch liners defo stops the ingress of water and mud.
Back to square one and it was only when I started taking the panels off I realised how much of the trim and the arch liners had been sprayed. He had even sprayed over the reg lights in the rear bumper. How that passed the mot like that is another question! You could not see through them!
So it starts again its more time and money but I wasn't happy with the car and they way it had been left and it would bug the hell out of me.
Round 2....at least it only took 4 hours to strip it this time around lol

Finally got around to changing the wood centre console to the sport version. New front bumper on, new doors and started spraying sills. Moving in the right direction! Better start advertising the bits coming off!

Well even I can't believe it after changing all the panels once again to sterling grey the car has finally gone to the body shop for its respray so hopefully in a month or so I will have a nice shiny sterling grey z3. Damn its been a long process! lol

The car has come back and its been driven 165miles so far and thats about 155miles more than last year!
Its been a long drawn out process, the wheels still need to be refurbed where the last person that sprayed the car demolished them and no matter what I have tried I can't get the paint off the brand new tyres that were fitted.
The most recent sprayer (Colin) has done a great job and took his time and obviously takes pride in his work.
So for the short time we have I will enjoy her, get the wheels and final bits done over the winter and will have her up for sale next year in time for the summer.
Talk about a labour of love. Must stand me in for at least 8-9k now and be lucky if I get 50% of that back but just parking it up and looking at it walking away makes me smile - that's how I sell it to the missus :)
