Will help when I come to sell it, not listed on there is the factory fitted sports suspension package as well, and the chrome package hence the 37,500 price.

£430 for blue tooth prep. Bloody hell! :wideyed:

I've been offered a good part ex against a 3.0l Z4 for my Z3 - so I'm right down the middle on what to do. I love my Z3 but I want the power of the Z4

You either love the Z4 or are indifferent to them, I cant knock them (nor should anyone else) as they do what it says on the can, but I find them a little bit too refined after owning two Z3's previously, I like the car and would love it if I didn't own a Z3 before, it is one of the better modern Roadsters in my opinion, 0 to 60=5.6 sec 152 MPH it is no slouch (quicker with a 3.0i) If I could get Z3 looks with Z4 performance and comfort sign me up now. The Z4 out-performs the Z3 by a mile in my opinion, after owning a 1.9 and a 2.8 Z3, The road holding is superb and you can still get the tail out but is a lot more stable due to the outdated rear suspension on the Z3,one more thing I am a very big guy, and felt cramped in the Z3 even with the seat at its lowest my head still stuck up a lot higher than the head restraint on the seat, the Z4 fits me perfectly with a lot more space in the cab, although it is harder to get in and out of of than the 3

I think you've about hit the nail on the head there mate in that the refinement of the Z4 makes it almost just another "fancy" car albeit a very nice one. The 3 is more of a true roadster than the 4 that's for sure. I suppose the overriding factor is that the 4 isn't too difficult to source in the spec and colour of your choice provided you are prepared to wait a little.

I feel a little confused with the car to be honest, when I drive it I love it, when I look at it (especially the cockpit) I love it, but always feel a little let down by her after a spirited drive, Doesn't get the heart pumping or your behind trying to grip the seat like it did with the Z3.. I was lucky when I bought mine, had been looking for one in Black with red interior for a week and then one was advertised with the massive spec in Wrexham 7 miles away from me.

I get what you are saying and I thought something very similar when I drove a 3.0l, it wasn't quite the "OMG that was awesome" feeling. It sounded great and went like stink which was very intoxicating though.

What model 3.0 the standard one or the SI ?

Jim have you tried a run in full sports mode with the traction turned. Which will then enable more driver than car control

Thought you was buying a Quattro Jim?

Standard, not the SI - they are a bit more expensive.
If i was going for a standard 3.0 then i would go for the Z3 if it is to be a week end and mid week toy. If you are going to do long runs or use it daily then i would go for the Z4. Depending on the price you want to pay you may even be able to pick up an SI. I have seen SI's going for around the 6 to 7k mark with around 60k mileage
