They do have quite a "kick" as the motor spins up for sure. You need to have a good grip. 9" angle grinders used to be like that but nowadays they have "soft start" technology.

Another project I've been doing is these dinosaurs and box for the young children in the family. Still to be painted yet.

Next project start .its the first time I’ve made a jig to level a slab of wood with my router and a 2” bit ,it works really well but it takes a few passes and not to much at a time
Can you run along the grain rather than across it Hugh? You should have a smoother finish I would have thought so needing less sanding out.
Have seen it done with a circular saw rather than a router. Using a plunge saw on a track on solid wood would give a firm and unyielding platform - run that across the two angles running along the wood would be great especially if you could use a dolly on the angles - it would run smoothly on the angles and across the track. Would need lots of cuts but you'd have control in both directions.
For sure something running on bearings would be worth looking at.

I might never do this again so This was on a flat table with 2x4 box clamped to it and 2 angle with a block of wood clamping them at the size of my router .a couple of passes with the belt sander and it ends up like this. I’ve got one more to do I’m not telling what it’s going to be yet.

Good guess but no it’s going to be something quite unusual and there will be epoxy but not blue..
my kind of workshop, I always get too engrossed and carried away in what I’m doing to clear up. Loving your work.

Must say, a workshop with all that clutter lying around the floor is an accident waiting to happen. Never the less, like the end product.
Lol yes I have a planer but this is over 18”. And to wide for my little thing . Actually this was very simple to set up and take down in seconds and I may never use it again.
