I thought you may have used a carving disc on a grinder. It looks very nice, what are you going to do with it Hugh.

Should have it done this weekend so I’ll wait until it’s fitted as it may go horribly wrong
Here a pic of it More or less ready to be fitted the oil really brings out the grain in the oak the brass is there to repair a crack in the branch ,it didn’t need it for strength but it adds a feature to the timber
Finally fitted it's worked out better than I imagined and I'm lucky to have an opportunity to do stuff like this as it's not going to work in every house

That looks really good, it works well in that interior ....
