I haven't owned any of those :(

Started off in a MkI Astra, and it got worse from there until I got a job with a company car. No actually, it didn't get that much better to be honest...

I learnt to drive in Mum's Morris 1000 Traveller but my first car was a Singer Chamois (Posh Imp), Great fun apart from the overheating.

I had one of those Brian. I forgot how many head gaskets I put in it..lol

I learnt to drive in my Dads Oxford then bought a 1969 Mini Clubman for £550, like this - yes it was called Bronze Yellow.

After that another Mini Clubman but a 1275GT, then a Triumph Dolomite and lots since

Mark I worked on the launch of the car, it was beautiful at the time, better than the jags, the interior was gorgeous, retro but nice.

It's a great car, cost me a couple of grand (7 years old with 10000 miles on it)

Serviced every year and the 2.5v6 bomb proof engine.

Most comfortable car I've driven!

errrr........hmm....i may have to get back to you on that one..!!

edit....they have all had "excursions" or "fielding" as i like to call it ..!!!

There was not a lot of space for a full list of cars so apologies if I have missed yours, please list them though and I will collate later for the big picture! I had forgot about the chevette, and hopefully someone may have had a Firenza?

Nice Mullet Stevie! Perhaps we should do owners and their hair styles next!

" Nice Mullet " I'll nice mullet you
That's a Simon Le Bon special I will have you know. :joyful:

man this thread is really cool...being a relative youngstar at 40 my first vehicles were not until the 90's and then they were bikes..but my west indian step- dad had an austin maxi called one-e in red..then a vauxhall viva (loved that car) then a ford cortina (mk 1) they always ended up decked out some way in red, gold and green! whether it be seats or stickers or general "bling" steering wheel and seat covers etc etc..

the first car I drove was a police car...but I don't know you guys well enough yet for that story!

top off the line was the sprint or the 1850 hl

I know Mark, that is why I crashed it (not) I got my dog, who was in the back, right in the back of my neck. She was OK but I hurt like hell. Try telling your insurance company that you crashed your car and got hit by a dog.....!!!!
I was riding in by brother's Caddy Eldorado 1976, in Philly and he hit a Great Dane on the left front of his car As our top was down I watched the dog shoot straight up in the air about 100 feet. I thought it would come back down on us but it was arching to the left of us. I could hear tires screeching and looked back down and ahead to our left to see a new Lincoln continental desperately trying to stop. The driver didn't want the falling dog to hit their hood and come through the windshield at them. He couldn't stop and hit the falling dog anyway but with the front of his car knocking the dog about 90 feet forward. None of us were hurt but we all went over to look at the dog. I've never seen anything quite like it. The fur of the dog was never broken but almost every bone in its body from the double impact, was. Just a heap of dog with all the parts in the wrong place. All the people came out from their houses and were thanking my brother. It seems that the dog was a fighter and had killed several other dogs in the neighborhood. It had often soiled all their front porches. My brother's insurance company had to pay for the damages to the Lincoln because his car had 'forced' the dog into the oncoming Lincoln.
