Tyres are 255/40/18 rears and 245/40/18 fronts off memory.
Your tyres are too wide on the front, 225 is the maximum you want to run up there,
I think Grumpy is misremembering ;) From memory they are the same size as mine which are 225/40/18 up front!

You could be right @GazHyde. I really can't remember without having a look. If that is right and I have a stretch on the front tyres to clear the suspension arm they really are to big then. :wideyed:

Just had a look at one of the photos I took on our Cruise back in November Dave. I can confirm your fronts are Falken 225/40 ZR18 92Y. I would post the image but it does show Reggie in a bit of a state:( and I did promise not to post dirty pics of Reggie again;)

Not sure on 18" wheels Dave. All I can say is mine are 225/45 ZR17 which are the recommended size, but I'm on 17". Perhaps you should be on 225/35 on 18" wheels???

Somebody with tyre knowledge can help I'm sure @t-tony perhaps??

That would explain the "stretch" Dave seeing as you're not on staggered rims. 30mm narrower tyre on the same width rim.

Tony.

the front i have is 225/40r18 and the rear is 255/35r18, isnt the 40 and 35 wall height as a percentage of the width 225 or 255?

@PeterJ I love wire wheels and I agree with you that the Z3 is an ideal car for this style of wheel.

We're in the minority though

Dare to be different ...wire wheels are the essence of a traditionally styled sports roadster ...let the purists be purists on their own Z3's

I love wires and would put a set on my car no matter who else liked or disliked them. If we all only liked the same things it would be a bloody boring world. Being non conformist is why every one of us individualizes their car whether it be wheels, colour, or stickers. After judging car shows for many years I've learned to appreciate the efforts rather than whether or not I like something an owner's done. JIM

Did someone mention wire wheels? Today on a Zed Shed outing we encountered not one, but three Z3's based kit cars wearing wire wheels. Two of which had straight bolt ons, and one which used hub modifiers so you can fit Jag E-Type or Morgan wire wheels.

The two pictures below are wire wheels made by http://www.mws.co.uk/. Supposedly they are happy to discount for cash purchases. Worth a look if you guys are interested...
