A forum member who has seen all your work will pay the prices quoted, getting someone from the public to do it is completely different. There are so many zeds on the market which are a lot cheaper so they won't bother looking at the higher priced ones. You need to get them in front of the car, then you will have no problem selling it. But it's getting people to come and look.
I had it with my 2.0, it was one of the nicest and most sorted around. It had done 127,000 odd thousand miles but was mechanically perfect and had a recent new roof and the bodywork didn't need anything doing. I priced it at £2200, had no interest at all apart from an older gentleman who lived quite far away. In the end we agreed at £1800 including another set of wheels, without him seeing it. I just wanted it gone and when he came to me he couldn't believe the condition, he said he had looked at a load which were all tatty and nowhere near the condition of mine. He snapped my hand off, I was gutted it went for so little compared to others but then I had no interest at all because it was priced higher than the rest.
If you can get people to your door it will sell instantly, but pricing it higher than the others just makes people not look, although you have no choice as it worth the price all day long. Ideally you need someone that knows the car to buy it, they know all the hard work. time and money that's gone into it and will no doubt pay your asking price. A member of the public will think it's just another high priced zed looking through the adverts. We all know it's not but they don't, unless you get them to your door.
I really hope it sells quickly and to someone who will look after and maintain it as well as you have.
