Bide your time and keep looking elsewhere a better car may come along. £125 discount does seem on the lean side as you are also saving him a lot of hassle too.

The rear screen may not be as easy as it sounds if he has an oem one then it may work out but if a £70 off eBay it may not fit.
Resolving this alone will be double the 125 you have off .
The Mot will be 30-50 for the test and if your good at mechanics just the price of any parts but again a gamble.
All cars look great in pictures a test drive should answer some questions but I would be re haggling the price or ask him if you can put it through an mot on your test drive you then have an advised choice to make.
If it's just time on his part then he should allow if you pay the test fee ok it's out of your pocket but loosing £50 or buying a lemon I know what I would do...

Taking it for mot on the test drive I don't think would be an issue, it's fitting the window first!
Also the prices have been discussed without me even seeing it, I'm sure I can haggle further, but I needed an indication as I am coming from so far and didn't want to waste each others time.

If I put it thru on the test drive and it fails on something silly/cheap to fix, I'd then have an issue getting it home without MOT.
I was thinking that if I liked it and took it without, I would book a test by me which would then allow me to drive it away.
Would there be another option in this regard?

Is there not a forum member that lives close by that can give it a good look over before you travel ?

A window should not be a necessary requirement for mot unless somebody knows better. Just put the roof down if it is.

It's in Anglesey North wales. I'm new the forum & to be honest and wouldn't expect anyone to take time out of their day to do that.
I've just looked on the member map and Zed owners are thin on the ground in that area! Sadly a 3 1/2 drive for me.

Cheers Gaz.
As I said I wouldn't dream of asking someone to go out of their way to do that.

Just checked with the local MOT station and the window is not necessary for the MOT, so that's good.

It needs the window fitted before the MOT, he's working away so that's the main problem
Doesn't need the window for the test. You could take it for a test with the roof down, it is not a testable item.

I'm not that far away from Anglesey, got a 2.2 of my own so got a rough idea what to expect, could go for a look if you like. Won't be till Thursday/Friday but quite happy to drive about a bit.
And if the bonnet don't open, MOT fail. Unless things have changed since I last did them.

As long as you can open the bonnet it's fine.

Anyway I asked about taking it to the test centre on the test drive and he said too much hassle with him working away so I guess I'll just have to wait until he's sorted it, which is probably best, but I want it NOW!!!:arghh:
