Brakes won’t hold pressure and the pedal sinks to the floor slowly. Audi Assist sent he AA and the chap was very nice and said, don’t know what it is but don’t drive it. Now waiting for another nice man to take me home, Enterprise car rental are sorting me an A5 which at this rate will be at home before I am. Benefits of an approved used car - well, the cover, not the breaking down that is.
 
A few years ago when the 5 ser broke down a rather nice man in another ser 5 (tourer) came and fixed it.

I'm sure it will be some thing that will be fixed promptly.
Be interested to know when you find out what is wrong. :thumbsup:
 
Oh dear it wasn’t just a one off freak incident then..

In the meantime I can get you the V5 for this beauty. The brakes definitely work :whistle:

VAG cars had a horrible habit of fluid leaking at the hose joints at the callipers through alloy banjo bolt washers, although I would expect your car to be way too new to experience that.

Could be... it took way longer to get home than it probably should have. The guy who brought me home drove over an hour from Heathrow as they couldn’t find anyone else free.

Just gotta wait for Enterprise to deliver the rental car before I go to bed - they can deliver up to midnight for emergencies.

Bleed your brake lines before you go spending lots of loot. Could be trapped air in the lines. Can you pump the pedal to bring the pressure up?
 
Hopefully a one off. Still, it saps your confidence in a car.
 
TT is now at the dealers for diagnostics, and I get to ball around in a Q5 40TDI Quattro S-Line with the 7spd STronic box. Thank god they are too expensive for me, otherwise I'd have to have one :bag:

Unless you see fluid being sprayed out somewhere when you press down the pedal, it's usually the check valve in the master cylinder which means it needs a new m/s....................Frankie
 
Technician report, particularly like that he has LHD instructions and the engine needs to be dropped to get at it.

Confirmed brake pedal sinks when car is on idle and brake pedal is pressed. Carried out removing all wheels. Carried out leak checks on all callipers. All ok. carried out full brake bled. I can see no defects and the bled has made no difference. The car isn't loosing any fluid. I feel I have an internal issue with the brake master cylinder. There isn't a test that can prove this other than replacing the master cylinder itself. Fitted battery charge and ran ODIS. Only faults stored from the car being recovered. No relating TPIs. I need to rule out the brake master cylinder by renewing it then carry out a system bled and re test. Instructions are for left hand drive so please allow more time for dropping engine. Parts please supply mater cylinder. Reservoir clip. nuts and OS engine mount bolts.
