I went to the local Autoglass centre to have a new windscreen fitted. After about 10 mins the chap came to me and asked "have you a problem opening your bonnet". You can guess the rest. Yes the cable had broken between the lever and the first latch. You could here the cable moving when the lever was pulled but it wouldn't open the latch. Brought the car home had a look on the various forums for the way to open the bonnet without a cable but after trying I failed totally. Kidney grill out etc. etc. So booked it in to the local Indy to do the business. Hopefully she will be fixed on Monday and then I can go and get my new windscreen fitted. So she's locked away at the car hospital at the moment.
