So, would you seal the little drain holes above the fan motor in the trim piece. These are positioned so that the water drains into the two main drains I think and if sealed, would result in a small pond in the middle of the scuttle trim piece? I was delighted to find that the water content has reduced dramatically overnight see pic. Another day should do it and I can start to put it all back together.I sealed my trim piece / cowling with butyl tape - this is what the factory did but it dries overtime. I also used a thin layer of black silicone sealer a little bit further up for good measure on the very edge of the cowling against the windscreen. Water would typically get past the factory seal when it gets dry between the glass and the plastic trim and drip over the motor cowling and the openings on the sides and maybe even the fan cowling seal against the body is also perished and water gets in. it's much better to seal this really well so the water slides over the trim piece over the blower motor entirely and collects near the wiper motor spindles then drips down some drains that are around that area where it can't cause that much damage if drains are clear on the wiper motor well.
