Archived Track day for the Z

pity its only 5 days after my chemo i don,t think i,l be well enough to come but if i can i will
If you could make it would be good to see you there,if not there's plenty more and hopefully it'll be you tazzing round the track.
 
I keep an eye on my pressures - as tyres warm up they expand - I have a tyre pressure gauge and pump
Just wondered as when I did bike track days the general rule was to reduce the pressures by 10 psi rear and by 6psi front.
I realise there's obviously a big difference in what you do with a bike to what you do with a car.

Measure them cold, I usually start at 28psi all round, crack on with a few laps and then reset the pressures when the tyres are hot. Play with the pressure from that point if you think your are getting understeer/oversteer etc. Enjoy :)

Forgive my divvyness,but when you say reset them when they're hot,do you mean keep them at 28 psi ?.

Correct Steve, when warm/hot balance the pressures again, I can sometimes find the front left can be as much as 11psi higher than I started. You should only need to do this once.

Remember to put them back to normal before you drive home.

Magic,thanks again Brian,most helpful and will save me a lot of time faffing about trying to second guess :).
I have a little 12v compressor that runs off the cig lighter in the car,so I'll be able to reinflate them to get home,which is only about 10 miles.
Just watched Q's clip,bloody Nora that car is quick :wideyed:.

Sounds a lot to try and remember though.
Weather is looking dry for Sunday so far :).
 
what times was you getting in the z4m?

Honestly not sure, I picked the Z4M up the morning of the Donington track day so had no video onboard.

As I am thinking a 1:25 is a bit opermistic?

I think you will be OK although 5 seconds a lap is a lot to lose in a day, aim high, you never know..... :)
