I might be looking at the wrong thing. But if you mean the clip on the drop link bracket it's meant to carry the handbrake cable. Hard brake line uses different clips below.

Yes, that is where the flexible brake hose outer end is mounted, with metal pipe from there to the calliper.

Where are the flexible hoses mounted then, they have to be at the fulcrum of the swing arms? Intrigued now.:)

She is so demanding came home from work, so play stopped for today. Just the half shaft bolts and hub bolts to torque up and a few installation chips to touch up tomorrow.

Cables tidied up with cleaned up or new clips.

Ran out of time to put off side abs sensor in, tidy cables, install braided brake lines and rear exhaust heat shields, remove x brace and reinstall exhaust. Hopefully have time to do that on Monday.

they look good are they the same material as standard or harder wearing as they are split can they be replaced with the beam in situ ?

Great work. As you know I’ve done the same job to the same standard so I know exactly what’s involved. Having everything that shiney probably extends the time needed to do the job several-fold.

No stopping me this weekend. Catalytic converter bolted back on but one of the bolts bolt a to the header has very restricted access how I got it off in the first place was a pig so another torx bolt to order and let the garage do it when I eventually get it’s MOT.

If I was to do it again I would have the beam and arms etc powder coated. Although they have come out quite well but taking into account the time spent on cleaning, preparing and painting components and the cost in materials I don’t think there would be that much in it but at leastwill be interesting to see how my end product holds up to a few seasons of use.

Quite a few lessons learnt doing this but also a ‘right of passage’ near done refurb and the feeling of achievement in the quest of trying to make my Zed the best I possibly can without taking out a mortgage

The Zedshed builds and other members projects have been a great resource, research was definitely the key to success plus a few enquiries of help from the Zedshed HQ and other forum members.

I hope my open air garage albeit tortoise paced progress does help to inspire others to show that it can be done with a restrictive environment.

It was wellI forking out for some useful tools which takes some of the cursing out of the project. So if your local I’m more than willing to give you a helping hand.

Some more pennies to put aside for the front end refurb, bloody ///M tax on top mounts is ridiculous.

Slow steady progress the diff was caked in rust, grease and muck after 7 hours of angle grinding with wire brush attachments, degreaser and had to resort to some phos kleen A acid to shift the muck in between the fins. The body is now acid etched with phos Kleen B and drying off. I did have illusions of grandeur of polishing the diff cover but I think some high temp aluminium paint will have to suffice after I’ve dremeled the old bush out.

Found a nice diff bolt screw set http://www.specialclassicparts.de/e...GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/83478026/Products/FW001 They also have the diff output cover bolts.

maybe me being stupid but...are those bolts specific for an M diff?.. I'd love a set of those on my 1.9 diff ! 🤩
