Have you cleaned the idle control valve? The ICV controls the revs up to about 2,500 rpm, then the throttle body kicks in.
I use CPC Performance in Amersham. Phil Crouch, the owner, knows more about BMWs than anyone else I've ever met. He is hard to contact but don't lose heart - try from 07:00 on his landline. http://www.cpcpe.com/The car has been sitting inside and started once or twice a week to move it around with no problems at all. The battery was robbed for another car and a weaker replacement fitted. Sometimes it will start on its own, sometimes needs the jumper pack. Then suddenly the throttle problem. If it was the fuel pump or filter I can't see it being an instant problem. More likely electrical problem and I am leaning towards an ECU problem caused by using the battery pack to jumpstart it.
Anyone know of a mobile BMW specialist in the Maidenhead area?
