Event Thoresby Hall 31st August

I really hope I am wrong, but looking at the organisers posts on other social media platforms, they have just cancelled another couple of events between now and the middle of the month, I'm starting to think this event could be heading in a similar direction. :(

I suspect you're right Keith. I had an email from them a couple of days ago which read the same way.

Tony.

That's all we can do Paul.

Tony.

Don't know about the rest of you , but although I paid for my ticket a few weeks back, I haven't received an email to print a ticket! Doesn't look promising.:(

Me neither, also sent them an email last week reserving 30 spaces nothing back from that as well.
"No news is good news" lets be positive

Nor me Ken.:(

Tony.

I was under the impression that the tickets for the cancelled May event were carried forward. I'm just intending to print that one and use it.

I never booked that one as we were supposed to be in the States.

Tony.

:( I am still waiting for my ticket as well.

Please note that the events at Stonyhurst College on 9 August 2020 and Holkham Hall on 16 August 2020 have now been cancelled. These events will not be rescheduled for 2020.

In accordance with our terms and conditions published at classicshows.org, any exhibitors, traders or visitors who have already booked tickets for these events will be able to use their tickets in relation to an alternative event either in 2020, if we are able to recommence running events, or if not, in 2021.

We will provide further information on this process once we have greater certainty regarding whether we will be in a position to recommence running events in 2020.

Thank you, Classic Shows

That’s up to 2 weeks before Thoresby. Looking less likely now.:(

Tony.

Statfold Barn proved it can be done a couple of weeks ago. We also went to a show at the East of England showground last week which was also very successful. A couple of the traders there did tell us the police and local authorities were present looking for any breaches of the regulations.

So it can be done.

There's certainly plenty of space at Thoresby, it's just going to be things like limited toilet facilities and the ability to keep them regularly cleaned which could be a problem.

Fingers crossed, but with only 3 weeks to go it's not looking promising. I don't believe the organisers have managed to hold any events yet since the easing of restrictions.

This is the email I received yesterday so hopefully it will go ahead.

Will put you down with hope! Be good to meet up.

Sorry Paul, now a nope. Dammit.

Flying back to Manchester with 14 days quarantine could cope with. Then Kirklees went in to Lockdown and isn't coming out making it all but impossible. Then Beirut (feel for the people there), half our staff are now there, leaving the office ... well, depleted ...

Have I annoyed someone upstairs ? All I want to do is to go home, drive my Zed, see some nice cars, meet old friends. Oh, and see Herself, obvs.

Next time...

No sweat Alex let me know when you are home and free can meet up

That's a shame Alex, maybe some other time.

Hi all - I just phoned Throrseby Hall events team and they say Its a case of "Watch this Space".
They have issued their plans (for 31st Aug) to the local council Safety Advisory Group (which include the Emergency Services) and they expect a response by Wednesday.
If the response is positive then that's only half the battle because Thoresby Hall falls under Newark and Sherwood and these are now on Govt watchlist for a rise in Covid-19 cases .................... the separate Event organiser ( to whom we paid) is probably still waiting for the all clear before Tickets will be issued by email.........
so we need the council to give the all clear to Thoresby Hall plans, the Govt not to issue a local lock down and the Event organiser to release tickets and there is less than 2 week to go........keep fingers and toes crossed ( and even then we need to pray for decent weather !!!)
