Latest update:

www.perfect-touch.co.uk

Great service by a quality bunch of mechanics. I can recommend this place, take a look

VANOS refurb,
Seals and rattle ring (whatever that is :wideyed:)
Cam Cover gasket
Viscous fan coupling
Coolant
Sundries

£571.91 all in (less 2.5 tanks of fuel, Premier Inn, trip into London Imperial War Museum, food).

709 mile round trip to Hoddeston in Hertfordshire with the drive back being better than the drive down, just seems to run smoother, which is nice

On the up side the guys did a full top to bottom and boot to front inspection (all these, bar 3 points, missed by a BMW Main Dealer recently)

This is the down side :arghh:

O/S/F fog light unit corroded (new that)
Only one horn working
Centre Exhaust Clamp broken but not blowing
Advise changing rear wishbone bushes for Powerflex as becoming weak
Front brake pad sensor damaged and not connected
Off side washer jet broken, leaking from base
Noise from gearbox, possible release bearing
A/C not working
N/S/F wish bone outer and inner ball joints worn
O/S/F wishbone inner ball joint worn
Small oil sweat from gear selector seal
Small oil sweat from oil filter housing
Front lower RAD cover tray broken and held up by cable ties
N/S/F and O/S/F inner arch linings damaged.

Should keep my local Indie in holidays for a while :D

Oh, this Z4 ///M was up for sale outside;

A little bitter sweet that one great that the work done has improved the car though.
I think I would take piece of mind in knowing it's faults at least its definitive and can all be fixed it will be mint when done and as a keeper worth every penny

Thanks Ant. I shall provide said list to my local "under the arches" garage so they can get it all prepped for when I'm back home next time. No big issues to resolve and as you say, nice to know so I can get it sorted :)

Lol =)) TBF mate I knocked out 1200 miles last time I was home and 709 this time, thus far. But yes it would appear that I've long since passed the point of spending more on her than I paid for her. For her to last another 25+ years she'll need it. Yup, shiny dust caps :D
