Good man. Will organise a day with our leader towards the end of the season then it can go in for paint over winter shutdown.

A little up-date.
Treatment carried out to the inner sill using Hammerite under body sealer with add waxoyl
very easy to use and sprayed on so well, was going to treat just ends but as you will see
from the last photo I decided to do a total spray job:whistle:

Great job Bazza and Jack:thumbsup:. This is what makes this forum so great, helping each other out. Not sure you can totally blame me Baz, but the sill wasn't bad for 21 years old:whistle:. I see another Zed shed opening up:)

That looks brilliant.

I've been changing panels on the coupe, I was shocked to see what POR15 didn't do since a couple of years ago

Some of this might have been down to my prep, I didn't go back to bare metal but I'm making sure I do this time!!!!!

Vactan is great but you mustn't remove the rust, just the loose stuff. It converts the corrosion to a stable foundation ready to paint over. Have been using it since I had my Mazda 12 years ago.

Martin the Dutch military have been using this stuff for years even on the bottom of canal boats Vactan is so easy to use just paint on and then paint over and used with Hamerite underbody seems to work

Guys I can only urge you to look at your sill's:woot: the kerb side a little worse than other, when I had a look at the outter sill all seemed well but the inner sill had the worst rust of all but still solid enough to treat with Vactan and paint I think if I had given this side another 2/3 years it would have been a differant story so get them off please, oh some photos (Jack cheers mate)

Nice collection of crap and some farmyard poo:(
DSC_4543.JPG
How on earth did that leaf get in there?
DSC_4544.JPG

outter sill showing signs of rust but treatable worse areas were around the jacking pads and the inner sills underneath which cannot be viewed unless you remove the outter sills, this side needless to say will have the full treatment as the other side.

Keep up the good work. A very timely reminder as well. Mine were about the same as yours in the main, however, I had OEM mudflaps on at the front and the sills on both sides (under the flaps) had completely rotted away, so the sill had to be replaced. Hardly any visible rust on the outer surfaces, so as you say, get the outer sills off and hsve a look what is hiding underneath.
