Myself and Jue would have loved to have come on this but we're already committed this year. If your going to run it again next year we'd love to come down and make a long weekend of it. New forest is beautiful and for us the horses just add to it. :)

@Bazza I will be putting up a detailed map / route with a few post codes and area car parks we can stop and meet up at. Should be next week fingers crossed.ok.

Such lovely weather too, really enjoyable driving the Z3 through the forest finding new places to stop and explore. :):)

well guys lets hope this becomes an annual event?

@Bazza this will be the second one I have sorted in the forest. If people continue to approve by turning up then why not. I have other ideas for some southern drive outs too. South Downs National Park for one.

I agree with you:thumbsup: the Downs would be a great place to hold a cruise:)

Just been on a recce to the meeting point at West Wellow Services... I need to do this stuff as directions are not my strong point (actually I'm really lucky to find me way home at night - hehe). Quite easy to find...

Fingers crossed for a sunny day

Hi! Looks like a good run through the Forest, please put us down, Chris & Jean. Have you sorted out where you will be eating on the Saturday night? Alice Lisle's very good.

@cn55. As yet I have not sorted the place to eat as there are several locations open to us. The biggest issue will be for how many. I was going to do a recount for the Saturday about 10 days before. Could you message me the one you had in mind and are you wanting 2 for the meal too ? I shall add you to the growing list for the Sunday too. Look forward to meeting you.

The Z has just passed its MOT this morning so I can now confirm I will be definitely attending the Sunday.

That's good news @Nifty Fifty .

So are we adding any others to the list ? Detailed route will be posted this coming week with Post Codes as well.

***** UPDATED *****
Please read.

Date is now 10th May 2015 for the drive out around the Forest and for those who want to meet up the night before, a pub meal on the 9th May 2015. I will be finding a few local premises and grab what kind of menu they have to give everybody an idea. Or we could meet up in Lymington and head to the local chip shop.. as always I will go with a majority choice.

I will point out that its a sedate drive around the forest as the speed limit is 40MPH ... but the views and the wildlife make up for it. A route in .pdf is attached to this post.

Looking to start from the Services at Ower, Bottom of the A36 just up from junction 2 of the M27. I will be heading down the old route from Winchester rather than the motorway if anybody wants to meet up and travel down about 09:30am Sainsburys Badger Farm South West of Winchester SO22 4QB. I am looking at a 10am meet up and 10.30am departure from the services at Ower.

Full address is Mc Donalds, West Wellow Service Area (Ower) Southampton SO51 6GF

Interest / confirmations so far.

For the Sunday are;

@pgunter @Nifty Fifty @GazHyde @Boysie @Bazza @mid life crisis @Mac @Jack Ratt @Ragtop @Mint @BMBabe @mwpe @Broads @Kit @Burrie @POG @Alin S @Marlin @Steve Funnell

Hi pgunter.
I have put myself and Jean down for the cruise but we wish to join in the evening meal on the Saturday night. So two meals please. The place I mentioned is the Alice Lisle, near Ibsley. But lots of other good places. Looking forward to meeting you on the Saturday/ Sunday
Regards

Hello Saturday evening people. I have been looking into the place to eat for a Saturday. I am looking at either near to Romsey or just slightly further near to Ringwood. To aid in this can I have a quick idea of where some of you will be staying on the Saturday evening please. There are two possibles in Romsey and one suggested by Chris as posted above. The issue with Romsey is that it has some very expensive places and not really a lot of good local food. The Fullers public houses seem ok as there are no places like Weatherspoons etc.

Your thoughts please and also if I have missed anybody for the Saturday evening .. please PM me. Route will appear tomorrow by end of play.

Happy Zed'ing

We're meeting friends in Southampton on Saturday so wont meet you guys until the run out on Sunday.

Hi Paul, thanks for doing all this organising. We'll be staying in Romsey and the Fullers pub (The Old House At Home) sounds a good place, gets good feedback on Tripadvisor. :) As we like real ale this would be our first choice however happy to go with the majority.

@pgunter Hi not sure I will be able to make the weekend now :( so cross me off the Saturday meal. Sounds like the Sunday will be well attended, keeping my fingers crossed I can make it up there. But my pub suggestion would have been http://www.hookandglove.com/
Have a look at the tablez and its round the corner from my brothers.

Please note I have now posted the route in .pdf format in a text file and a map view. It is on the first thread.

Any issues please feel free to comment.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the day and a few on the Saturday for a meal in Romsey.

Have just looked at this route, we are in for a treat:thumbsup: some one's been a very busy boy
well done Paul:) my neck of the woods so very happy:party:

I have tried to take us 'off the holiday route' so people can see the real forest rather than the glossed over bits.

...Would everybody be happy with 18:00 ? Please confirm. @Mint @cn55 and any others who might like to join us.

Is the plan to eat in Romsey Paul. If it is we'll walk to the car park and yep 18:00 is fine with us:)
