Thinking of what to have for some nice food on the Saturday 9th. Would you maybe like to meet in Lymington and head to the chip shop and a walk around the Quay and Town ? Or would pref be a PH for a sit-down meal weather dependant of course. As for places to stay I believe that Premier Inn has a location in the Forest to the SW edge. Bournemouth side.

Looks like we have a rather nice gathering for the Sunday too.

We may also have a few more for the meal TBC.
We will be meeting old friends on Saturday night in Southampton so can't meet up until the actual run out on the Sunday, but we will be there. Just need to know what time and where to meet up on Sunday morning.

Hi Paul, we are booked into a hotel in Romsey for the Saturday and Sunday night.:) This saves us driving home on Sunday night and I'm sure we can find something to do on Monday.;) As for the meal on Sat, we would prefer a sit down in a pub type affair to the North of the New Forest. Not too keen on driving down to Lymington over roads we may be driving on on Sunday for Fish'n'Chips only to drive back up to our hotel. Hope this is ok. We are definitely looking forward to meeting old friends and making some new ones.:thumbsup:

***** UPDATED *****
Please read.

Date is now 10th May 2015 for the drive out around the Forest and for those who want to meet up the night before, a pub meal on the 9th May 2015. I will be finding a few local premises and grab what kind of menu they have to give everybody an idea. Or we could meet up in Lymington and head to the local chip shop.. as always I will go with a majority choice.

I will point out that its a sedate drive around the forest as the speed limit is 40MPH ... but the views and the wildlife make up for it. A route in .pdf is attached to this post.

Looking to start from the Services at Ower, Bottom of the A36 just up from junction 2 of the M27. I will be heading down the old route from Winchester rather than the motorway if anybody wants to meet up and travel down about 09:30am Sainsburys Badger Farm South West of Winchester SO22 4QB. I am looking at a 10am meet up and 10.30am departure from the services at Ower.

Full address is Mc Donalds, West Wellow Service Area (Ower) Southampton SO51 6GF

Interest / confirmations so far.

For the Sunday are;

@pgunter @Nifty Fifty @GazHyde @Boysie @Bazza @mid life crisis @Mac @Jack Ratt @Ragtop @Mint @BMBabe @mwpe @Broads @Kit @Burrie @POG @Alin S
Interest shown for the Meal on the Saturday are;

We drove through the New Forest today, not in the Zed though. We are in for a treat on May 10th, lovely roads & scenery. It is going to be fantastic being in a Zed convoy along those roads. :happy:

Been down twice this week and might have to get another drive in over the weekend ... yes it is a lovely place. I hope the route will be good enough for you all to enjoy. Its more about the drive and what you can see rather than foot down driving. The animals have right of way on most of the forest roads so makes for some interesting traffic jams. I have attached Mondays hold up through the forest.. =))=))

North better for me as I should be staying in the small village of Farley just east of Salisbury. As for food I like steak and :beerjust a pity I won't be able to have the :beer as I will be driving so will settle for steak or anything that eats grass.

I have been out checking part of the route and apart from the idiots coming the other way and not slowing down for the animals.. ( Morons ) I had a great drive. I have selected a few possible parking areas that we can have a break at.. so roll on the 10th.

As it appears we have so many now coming, 20 + I think it would be advisable to either go off in twos and threes or in maybe two groups. I would like your opinion on what you would feel happy with. I will be adding a fully detailed route to this thread nearer the time. So comments please.. and if I could ask the help of someone who is good at leading a group ... Its an easy drive and very well sign posted.

Just for a taster.. her is my little Zed..very little compared to the Redwoods in the Forest..

With 20+, we are bound to get split up at times. Two or three groups would probably work better, meeting up at times. I would be happy to lead a group if it helps.:)

@mwpe You are a star.. I would very much appreciate that. I would say it is a certainty that we will be split up into several groups. Hence the idea of going off in smaller groups as any issues on the small forest roads would cause a major headache.

It will be a great day out and I hope we all have fun.
