It's the mythical toilet paper shortage all over again. Just been to Sainsbury's and when I got there the queue for fuel was much longer than normal. By the time I came out after picking up some shopping the roads surrounding the area were gridlocked. The queue for fuel extended right out of the supermarket along the road blocking a major roundabout causing traffic chaos. IDIOTS ! They will create shortages when there are none.
 
And because they're likely to cause a shortage where there is none - I'm just about to put on my going out pants and join the queue!

What's the current exchange rate? How many of my stockpiled loo rolls for a litre of fuel? Quite happy for E10! :p
 
Shirl filled her car with diesel yesterday as she normally, it took £70 to fill it and the cashier made a spray comment about it having a big tank.

I’ve just finished work , went passed a petrol station, then another and thought something is going on , so at the next station I pulled in and filled the tank up , I waited about 45 mins , and when I left the queue was even longer and a lady from the station was already putting yellow covers over the nozzles to say empty 😲
 
This could cause me all sorts of inconvenience as I currently do around 650 miles a week but I cannot fill the tank as I have to make individual claims for each journey so I get receipts.
 
It's getting dafter the later in the day it gets. I'm sure the BBC and other news outlets will be whipping everyone up into a frenzy!
 
Media saying ' difficulty getting deliveries, and not to panic buy ' only causes one thing - as we already know.

However most folks dont keep a full tank and just top up regularly - so they will need fuel, and will be tempted to fill the tank this time. Mutliply that by many drivers and result is a short term shortage.
I suspect many folks will be asking to WFH again fore the foreseeable.............

I decided not to fill up. Couldn't be bothered to put my going out pants on.

So, Stevo, when you get to the filling station you tell them that you can have my share.
 
Irresponsible and inaccurate media reporting that predictably stirred up the hard of thinking's fear of missing out. The only fuel shortage is the one caused by numpties that don't actually need it sucking the pumps dry. In SE Essex there is no fuel now. How are people such as healthcare home helps or prescription delivery drivers going to do their jobs now that the muppets have caused a real shortage?
 
Very late afternoon I’ve been to four petrol stations and each hadn’t any fuel in any format. I’ve limped home on vapours but that’s it for using the Z until there’s petrol! This is bonkers!!! Passed about five petrol stations first thing this morning and each had snaking queues coming off their forecourts…never dreamt I’d be coasting in my car attempting to get home and not simply stop needing to call Roadside Recovery due to having not been able to find any petrol.

I am convinced the media talked us into that 2008 financial crisis - they 'create' the news then report it.

There's two groups of people I really dislike. Politicians and Journalist. I wouldn't p*ss on them if they were on fire.
 
The Queue out of Morrisons fuel station on Heapham Rd. in Gainsborough was building as I left town this afternoon and was already blocking the main road. Someone will get hurt.
