There was a great clip of video on BBC.com earlier from the Lincolnshire section, I was going to post a link but it appears they've taken it off. It showed the Vulcan doing a fly past over the coast, but I didn't catch where.

Beer time,

Tony.

For the Mossie lovers, here is one I made earlier. Sorry about the poor light and S*"t phone camera!
Just something about those planes, they just look right.
It was was built as a bomber but then became a fighter bomber.

This particular one, DZ353, was based at Woodhall Spa with 627 squadron, part of the Pathfinder Force. It was lost over France on 09th June 44. On the same raid 617 squadron dropped the first Tallboy. I saw the kit at East Kirkby and had to have it as my Aunties first husband was a flight lieutenant with the PFF Lancasters at Coningsby (97 sq) and was a tail end charlie. The Mossie and his Lanc ME625 were on a number of raids together, including D-day. Sadly he and 12 others were killed on the 23rd June 44 when two Lancs collided during formation flying practice over Crowland. The wreckage from his plane is at East Kirkby, a fitting tribute.

My dad was in north Africa in the war before going to Burma (as it was called then). He died 5 years ago in September aged 94 and always said that when he saw that area on the news that it was " Just like that when I was over there" But he would never talk about it to us, I wish he had.

No, the old boy would never talk about what he went through in North Africa. That's why I am glad that I had the chance to work down there and get a sense of the desert.
