Yep, a crying shame @pgunter I liked the bit where the chap said you could see that this was the test bed for Concorde.
My brother went on the last Concorde flight, drunk so much Champagne that he fell asleep and missed most of it.....=))

The Victor was a b****r to gain entry to, extract the aircrew and shut it down! Especially the pilot and Co-Pilot. Majestic nonetheless though.

@pgunter stunning trio and a genuine part of keeping the Cold War "Cold" being ready to rumble on a one way trip to do the deed over the Warsaw Pact. Not forgetting the mighty TSR2, miles ahead of its time but our hand was forced and we bought the McDonnell Douglas Phantom (no relation, I've checked!) Insted:(

I am lucky here as I get the planes over heading to southampton. Which during show season is also spitfires and hurricanes. Not seem my fav Mossi for a while though. I just love the sound of two merlins.. Awesome. I will dig out some old photos if I can find them of a show at Middle Wallop many years ago celebrating 50 years of the Spitfire. and they had 50 spitfires flying in formation.. the one and only time its ever been done since WW2.

Apart from the rain, the only down side about living on the western most tip of Cumbria is that we very rarely see any fast jets or other types:(

Considering they were wooden frames and two very powerful engines.. no wonder the Germans used to run when they spotted them.. Very powerful and very well armed.

Made a few airfix models in my youth too. Used to stuff them with cotton wool, soak them in my old man's lighter fluid, light 'em and chuck 'em out my bedroom window. Clearly destined to be an RAF Fire-fighter:ymdevil:=))

Oh dear, trip down memory lane I must say.
Among others, Me 109 chasing a Lanc with a Spitfire on its tail.

Me 262.. now we are talking... What was the small german rocket plane.. Looked like a pilot stuck on the nose of the rocket. Got me thinking now.

Started off as a single engine jet plane with no gear.
This was how it ended up and only the Mosquito could get near it.
