Tony. I really like your thinking mate. A man after my own heart. Reggie is 17 years old, Jues freelander is 17 years old, my saab is 6 years old. I've never purchased a new car and never will. Each to there own but it's not for me.

I bought a new Vauxhall Chevette 1.3L back in 1978 CDH928T, cost me £2785. I traded in an old Fiat 128 and had a loan for £1500 over 2yrs. I kept it for 10yrs and 90000miles and sold it to a mate for £850. I loved that car.
I've had plenty of new cars since then but all have been company cars.
Now, my interest is in "oldish" classics such as my Zed and my Merc 230ce.
I personally would not buy a new car now.

Frank: Jues trusted dog cart! 121000 miles, 1.8 petrol, pure beast lol!! We paid £700 three years ago and it's never missed a beat bless it! It'll be replaced next winter for another 4x4. Looking at X3's next.
Samantha: My saab Aero 1.9 twin turbo diesel 180bhp. Bought this at 3 years old. 39000 miles on it now. This is our main car. It's a good car but a bit of a yawn! I will sell this next winter and buy a cheap runabout as all my car does is sit in the lorry yard gathering dust. The money off the sale I'll give to Jue towards the X3.
And daddy's little soldier Reggie. 92000 miles and still going strong. Hopefully I will still have this in 30 years time. I don't see why not, it's a solid car and only does 2000-3000 a year. There is talking of adding a Zed 4 to the fleet at some point if money allows.

Totally with you Jack, I much prefer older cars as well. I just find most affordable modern cars a bit boring now days. What I see as nice newer cars are unaffordable for me and I won't have finance anymore. I used to sign on the line but prefer to buy within our means these days.
Hi, cracking family you have there. I had a Saab 9-3 before the 320, great car, just too many miles on it.
Definitely, if I can't buy it outright I'll do without.
All loans here are life insured including mortgages so I told my kids I want to go owing the banks as much money as I can and go with the moto the banks have millions I haven't even borrowed yet. They make billions upon billions off the backs of working people just so their rich stock holders can line their pockets with gold, JIMUnfortunately all debts "after us" will go to our children.... so , better solve it in this life time!
