I agree with Hugh and Billz having travelled many miles in Europe back when. You'll make great time on the Bahns and travel much faster than in the U.K. Take an extra day if possible you won't regret it but if you don't you'll always wonder WHAT IF!! JIM

Your input is very much appreciated.. Doing this 'blind' so to speak. The idea of coming back on the Thursday was so a lot of people could get back home and relax.. I am open to a few suggestions from the guys on here regarding the day back..

They seem to have gone very quiet..

To be honest there is a lot to be said for what Hugh @miller1098 has said. Every time we did some passes they were the main talking point over a meal and a few beers that night. Just being able to talk about the exploits of the day made it more memorable than just driving through which is easier to forget the experience.
Ask me about the passes we just drove through and did not discuss and i can not really remember them. But ask me about the ones we talked about and it is firmly planted in my head.
The talking about the day that has just occurred over a few beers helps cement the experience even more. JMHO

I agree with Hugh, I think another day would be better and more relaxed but I do not have any time constraints. The Swiss passes are worth taking time over. :)

The original plan was head home on the Thursday, might be worth checking with everyone else if they're ok for an extra day.

I hope you can find the time to make the extra day,I promise it will be worth it there are not many chances in your lifetime to experience something as special as this and to be able to share it with each other as a group will probably be once in a lifetime.Come on guys lets make beautiful memories together;) .im just hoping my nadgers have shrunk enough to get in the car ,lol

Sounds confusing to me but i do like the sound of the swiss passes. I would be okay to book an extra day but i wont have the 'time to relax' day afterwards regardless of when we get home.

Have hokenheim got back to you paul regarding the track? If not maybe its an option to just do the passes not the track?

I agree @Shortie_gal it's getting a bit confusing, i'm leaving it up to Dave, he can decide what's best, all i need to know is do i need
extra clothes lol

We've done the passes before but to do them with other Zedders would be great

Sorry - other things on our mind:whistle:

Totally agree Mike, like you we do not have any time restraints.

He's my penny worth. Agree on making the trip longer and doing some of the Swiss Passes. As @Mrs Mint said we have done quite a few but to do them again with fellow Zedders would be great. Here's an outline plan incorporating the ideas in the thread so far from @pgunter @billz @miller1098 :

I have only used Langres as an example of somewhere to break the journey back to the tunnel - open to other ideas.

Food for thought...

Some may want to do the drive to the tunnel in one go to cut down on the number of days, it's about 9.5 - 10 hours driving. As we have a 4 hr drive home from the Channel Tunnel in Folkstone I've put an overnight stop in.

Another option is to break the back of the journey home on Friday and stop further North in France, e.g. Reims or St Quentin.

Hope you and Lee are still coming @Shortie_gal you can always choose to start back a day earlier, that's if we ever sort out what we are doing

Whatever we end up doing it'll be great, remember last year =))

OK.

The original plan was to come back on the Thursday... Can I have a show of hands for coming back on the Friday then please. It has to be before the weekend as a few are not able to get two saturdays and such off.

The track is looking very tight as they have new regulations for the 2017 season to work on too. As it stands its a museum visit and a short track with photos, not the full track as they have setting up for a big event happening. Which to say is not ideal, I keep trying to sort these things but sometimes a mountain just appears.

I think returning on the Friday for a few of us would be good. Those that want to stay longer can to make the most of it.

Thank you for your help on this. Its never easy when dealing with something at a very long arms length..

SO return on Friday for a few and then when ever for the ones who have bags of time to play with ???

Friday works for us too :) as does Saturday, i love being retired  sorry :sorry::sorry: your time will come :p
Are you looking at hotels at Hokenheim and Mulhouse @pgunter or shall we have look?
All coming together now, really looking forward to this but will be happier when we have it all booked :)
Can then forget about it and concentrate on all the other Zedding meets and cruises :)
